Quote from: cowboy on June 01, 2026, 11:27:24 AMI'm confused on where it says they are part of the announcement? From what I read it is basically asking the Mini Miner's Crew to send in their ideas in video format for future rides, food, etc. - SDC doesn't want adult ideas, they want to hear the imaginations of the younger fans of SDC.

The press release says that the park will make a historic announcement on August 14. This new Mini Miners Crew will be part of it. https://www.silverdollarcity.com/press/mini-miners-crew/

As much as people here want a high thrill coaster, the park will not allow the gap Thunderation leaves to go unfilled during this next season. Not to say the ride won't be interesting, record-breaking, and unique, it just won't be too intimidating for a 7-year-old.

I work in marketing, and this Mini Miners Crew concept certainly sets up for future developments, but it primarily exists to build hype for the announcement of the upcoming family coaster. That much is clear. It's a great engagement strategy, and I applaud them for interacting with their fan base like this.

It wasn't. It was set to operate with it during Coaster Con.

Quote from: sdcfan88 on January 01, 2026, 06:51:50 PMWell, according to this trip report, it looks like TNT will be getting a stay of execution thru at least the end of 2027 per Brad Thomas. Quote from: legoerosion on April 16, 2026, 12:00:03 PMI've heard some rumblings of a "big announcement" on August 14th that'll happen before fan-fest.

 :)

There's a lot of possibilities for this ride, but with how sudden they closed TNT, this probably isn't its replacement. They didn't get TNT Final season merch (besides the t shirts) until a few weeks ago due to the quick turnaround they of announcing it.

I'd love to see a Stryker with a turntable/rumble track with the mining theme they have going on, but I'd be happy with whatever. This looks to be a stand out ride no matter the model

I really wish this was something thrilling but it's not. Project 2027 is a DIRECT TNT replacement. This has been planned for the past 3+ years. Anyone who expects this to be on the same level of Time Traveler thrill wise is going to be disappointed. Obviously this will be marketed the entire family but this is not going to be a thrill machine or anything remotely close. It will be Thunderation's Mystic river falls with a first of its kind and some "family friendly" records broken. Herschened as a whole is pivoting entirely from Thrill to family and this will follow

And how do you know this?

Quote from: Swoosh on May 28, 2026, 09:29:23 PMAll I'm going to say is that a "TNT Replacement" is not a "first of its kind in the States"

Also take a look at that station... awfully wide for just a "TNT Replacement"

Make at that what you will.

*cough*

Where are you getting this information from?

I have been told thats the case. A Thunderation replacement doesn't mean the same ride or that it cant be a first of its kind in the States. But its going to fill the same hole left by TNT in SDC's lineup....

You have been told by who? No need to name specifically, but what kind of person? Park employee? Park management? Someone in the know?

RowEleven

Mack has already said that they have a family coaster being built in the states in 2027. This is that family coaster.

I hope and pray this isn't anything like big boring mountain, terrible gravy, or diseases wolf gorge. Those coasters are terrible. I've been to sdc over 1,000 times. Its my favorite place in the world. But the last time we went was awful. Rides down everywhere, all the old timers are slowly retiring and the new younger workers are rude and don't give a fuck about the park. It was bad enough that I'm not bringing my family back for the first time in the 43 years I've been alive. We are going elsewhere this year. And if this new coaster is anything like those stupid family coasters that have gotten so popular, we will not be back next year either.

RowEleven

Reported the above comment from rabidplatypus. No need for hateful language.

Also, Big Bear Mountain is an astonishingly fun roller coaster. It's surprisingly forceful and has great onboard audio. I can't imagine not having a good time riding it.  :)

I hope the new coaster curves through walkways like BBM. I've never been to Dollywood but the videos I've seen are impressive with how the layout of the coaster goes right over and around the main area of the park. And as a person getting older in their 50's, I also hope its as smooth as BBM.

Yet it's not a BBM clone... It's not the same company that built BBM. It's not a "First" in North America. Not sure where this narrative started and why it's being pushed so hard everywhere. It's also interesting seeing all these newer accounts on here pushing this narrative without full evidence when asked. Makes me think it's employees trying to deflect and distract as they do with the "World's Largest Dollar General". It's cute but comes off as trolling.

Also BBM is just a weaker PK without the awesome first launch.

QuoteAlso people are forgetting this park literally built and marketed an Xtreme Spinner for families. Yes it will have its own unique flavor bridging high thrill and family coaster so the classifications kinda get thrown out the window here.

I'm actually surprised they didn't give Dollywood an Xtreme Spinner by now. It may possibly be TN Tornadoes replacement in the future as I can see them keeping the weather theme for the spinning.

From my experience, usually the employees are rude whenever it's first slung in their direction. Seems like it might be a you issue  ;)
