If you like the music, you have to see the Homestead Pickers. They are awesome. We love all the rides but one of our favorite things to do is to watch the Saloon Show. Peanuts, Popcorn, and Root Beer Floats...what a blast. Usually we pack our own lunch and we enjoy sitting at the tables watching the rafters float by on the Lost River. Have an enjoyable trip.

While I would still recommend heading to Outlaw Run first, you should be aware that Outlaw Run has trouble getting up in the morning and probably won't start going until the park's already been open for about 20 minutes.  This is based on last year, so it may be a bit better now, but I'm seeing the same sorts of delays this year at my closest park, Six Flags Great America, with their new Goliath.

Powder Keg should still be manageable by the time you get done with Outlaw Run.

Awesome tips everyone, thanks! Visit was yesterday, started on Outlaw Run twice and then Powderkeg, near walk on for both. Then Fire in the Hole, American Plunge and Wildfire. About the only thing people suggested we weren't able to get to was the saloon show - we did the magic show and it was about an hour long instead of 45 minutes, so we had to make a choice between cave and saloon... And cave was totally the right choice.

Sad we missed that, but what a great day and great park! Thanks again, it wouldn't have been so good without your help!

It's getting to the point that one day at SDC just isn't enough  ;D

^With a moderate crowd, for the first time visitor, this must be true.  If you truly want to do and see everything (shops, demonstrations, entertainment, and rides), and not rush through them, you must take more than a day.
