With all the history that this place has, i think it would make a good movie. You could use some of the rides as story lines thru the movie, like baldknobbers catching the town on fire - a nearby prison has a escape attempt - someone has a cool swing in their backyard - so & so's neighbor cooks great food - & there's even a cool cave!

What'a ya'll think? Lets discuss. ;)

I'd like to see it.   Although, the Ozarks Imax movie is pretty good (and has everything you mentioned!).   Whenever I get homesick for the City, I pop in the DVD of it.

Junior

Much of the theming at SDC has to do with real events or folklore in ozarks history. Storyline on FITH, storyline at the diving bell, Wilson's farm really was down Indian Point by the White River, Butterfield Stagecoach went through the region, Alf Bowlin was a mean highwayman, so, yeah, it could make a good movie...it's in part drawn from real life! (History books)

I think that would be a great idea!  I could see Leanardo Dicaprio as a young Jack Herschend.  How about Betty White as Mary Herschend?  Okay, that's probably a no.  But seriously I would love to see the story of SDC on the Biography Channel....would make a great story.

could be done several different ways, and i would imagine all would be great..

I would like to see  the steps throguh the years as the park grew and changed, BUT that would have to be a weekly series to run....  maybe for a year!  yea!!

One of the promotional videos a few years back had this premise, but only for the crafts/ buildings, nothing about the rides. The makers wove a story about different personalities, and crafters, and their mountain settlement.

Ozark Outlaw

I just want to see a real documentary on the Ozarks, Branson, Marvel Cave, and Silver Dollar City all rolled into one. ;D

I would LOVE that! I think it would be a really good movie!  ;D

That is a great movie. Don't have the DVD, but we see at the Imax at least once a season. Took me the longest time to figure out the ending though.  ;D

I was just thinking the same thing. I surprised it hasn't been on Bio yet.

I have the IMAX movie "Ozark Legacy and Legend" version on DVR when it aired a year or so back on the DOC network. Fun to watch when I am going through withdrawl!
