I know we all have a soap that we love to watch or maybe even used to watch in the past so post and tell about it. Mine were As the World Turns and Guiding Light. Me and my wife watched both of those all the time.

College Gameday Live.  That's about as much of a soap opera as I watch.

Remember there is no 'D' in either Oklahoma or Oklahoma State

On a brighter note, the Chiefs won yesterday!!!  ;D

Sorry... if you're not a Chiefs fan, then I guess that wouldn't be a "brigher note."  But it is for me!!!  :D

Go Chiefs!  ;D I used to live in KC and got family up there that are HUGE chiefs fans. It's just been so long since we had anything to cheer about.

Wow boys, and girls off topic much? :P

I don't watch too many Soap Operas myself. As a young child I would spend the day with this lady who ran a daycare out of her house. She used to make me, and the other children watch Soap Operas with her all afternoon. After that, I was done with them. However, they seem to remain pretty popular even today.  :)

oops, sorry. My ex is Panamanian and I used to have to watch the Spanish Telenovelas. I really really don't like Soap Operas in any language. Sorry, y'all.

I found an iteresting site. It's called television tunes, and for free you can listen to the theme song of just about any show. My favorite is As the World Turns of course, but there are thousands of show to choose from, like Andy Griffith and a ton more!

HERE'S THE LINK TRY THIS SITE OUT!

As for "real" soap operas, in college, I had a roommate who watched Days... constantly.  ::)

So, I started to really get into it, but quit watching after Marlena got possesed in 2001 or 2002... whenever that was.  About a couple of years ago, I watched an episode, and I SWEAR it felt as though I hadn't missed anything.  ::)

I still pretty much got the jist of the plotline, and still knew pretty much all of the characters (except that the babies born while I was watching are now 18 years old or older.  ???)

And it was then that I realized that soap operas were a complete and total waste of my time and I was soooooo glad I quit watching them. :)

Soap operas...continuing storyline in each episode, building on the previous episode...for some, that could be "House," or maybe the "CSI" programs...for me, HBO's weird and cutting edge program, "SIX FEET UNDER" was pretty fantastic.
"Howdy there folks! My name is Junior Dugan, and I'll be drivin' your diving bell!"

Those are usually categorized as dramas. I LOVE House, but I definitely put that under drama rather than soap opera.

As for soaps... Well, I remember when my sister and I were really young, we would watch All My Children and One Life To Live with our mom. We never connected with the younger characters. Our favorites were always Vicky, Dorian, Adam, and Erica.
