Andymeets1880s

Some of you have seen me say this before.....but when I am really under stress or a lot of tension and am about to scream, I wish I could just go to a closed SDC with lawnchair in hand, go dead center of the park or find a nice storefront or porch and just sit right down and not care about anything except soaking up the atmosphere! Maybe have access to a one eatery where I can grab a snack and pop and just watch the day pass.

Ahhhh...bliss!

My fantasy would be to have the ability to travel through SDC history.  To see the place as it first was and at 5 year intervals through the years, give me half a day to explore each half decade.
Old photo's of the park interest me and even seeing the park as it was when I first visited in the 70's would really be neat.
Time Travel SDC, that would be a cool deal indeed.

Wow! I like the fantasy in the previous posting...may I borrow it, please?

You did ask nicely so if you pack some Bologna sandwiches, corn chips and some grape soda you can go along with me.
:o

The frightening part of that trip is that at one point I might actually bump into myself at one of the attractions! Wow, that might cause some "Back to the Future" time shift thing, and the WHOLE WORLD WOULD BE SUCKED INTO A BLACK HOLE! AHHHHHHHHHH!

I think we would ALL bump into our previous selves.  (memo to remind myself not to take the rope swing and fall off like I did in 1983)

I (my eight year old child-self) would probably not even notice myself, as I would've been too busy making striped candles and running through Herman's treehouse, to notice myself noticing myself. (??!!!)
No matter where you go, there you are.

"Doc Brown: I foresee two possibilities. One: coming face to face with herself thirty years older would put her into shock and she'd simply pass out. Or two: the encounter could create a time paradox, the result of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's a worst-case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy."

I would run into myself at the Greedy Bros. playground that sat in Lake Silver-or- at the Gandy Dancers.

Zephon

You guys would probably be alright as long as you didn't touch your other self.  Being out of phase time-wise, you would cancel each other out if you touched.

I want to play my fiddle in silver dollar city. This has always been one of my fantasies. I would like to be a street performer like they used to have on the front side of the Hospitality house. I sorta got to play there once in 1995. THis lady was making violins and she let me play hers. That was pretty awesome.

Junior

The lady making violins was probably Violet Hensley...a legend in fiddlemaking from Arkansas. I think she may be the only craftsman who has participated in every fall crafts fair at SDC since it began.

Well you could always just sneak a fiddle in, and find you a shady tree somewhere, and start playing! ;) Actually Silver Dollar City is always looking for new talent, and visiting musicians. You should contact their performance department, and see what doors they have to open.

marolinesdad

You don't have to sneak it in.  Lots of people take in instruments and play with the Homestead Pickers.

I thought it would be fun to work there. But then I know how hot the summers get. But being a performer would be sweet!!! Just really hot in the costumes which would be lousy!!

Okay, wait, how does working at Silver Dollar City automatically equal working in a stuffy costume in the middle of a hot summer? :P

They have several indoor shows, and attractions too.  :)
