This appears to be something like Big Bear Mountain or the new Werewolf Canyon coming to SFFT in 2027.TNT's replacement is coming in 2027. This will either be a STRYKER, Hyper or another family coaster. Also to be built by MACK.
My thoughts are that THIS will be the TNT replacement.
Sorry I did not get screenshots (yes huge Thoosie fail on my part)
Do not cite the deep magic to me witch, I was there when it was written.
In other words, get lost kid

Last post by legoerosion - June 09, 2026, 09:11:43 PMAn idea that I really don't want to come to fruition, but I could see them using the land where Birdies Cabin/ apple butter/ petting zoo area for an expansion. It's not that popular of a spot unless you're a regular visitor to the park, and would allow for an easy footprint expansion near the entrance.
But I also like my quiet areas and hope this never happens

I also don't think they are short on BOH space in the area where TNT sits. I do think they want another ride near where TNT sits, because they don't want the coaster seeking crowds bunched up in the NW corner of the park.
Family launch coasters are still all the rage. I was always surprised we never got our version of firechaser express.
^^That speculation on TNT being a 'surprise' closure is kind of what I've been thinking. I think after the incidents it has suffered with trees falling on tracks, an employee death, and just general age and maintenance concerns someone finally threw a fit about it at the corporate level. Probably saw the bill for replacing a large section of track and just didn't see the ROI in keeping it around another decade.
I had thought a smaller scale coaster of that variety could be worked in up on the corner hill past Time Traveler and snake around Grand Expo. My original thought if they had not built the current plaza by FITH 2 is they would have just placed a small outdoor coaster out there to do the same from that direction. 3rd option would be to take down the Waterboggan Tower, use the land for a station, and have it meander around and pass over the pathways a couple times. Sadly this option would probably mark the end of all the mature pine trees in that area as they help shade the pathways on hot days. I suspect thats partially why the tower hasn't been touched after all these years.

Last post by sdcfan88 - June 09, 2026, 08:33:41 PMSeeing this video clip and when compared to the footer turnaround by Wildfire one could argue if its not a Hyper or Stryker model it could be a large footprint Mack Mega Coaster. https://youtu.be/FcvSZwQfFB8?si=VaEvAfUd4h_aDz7I&t=350
They only have 2 listed on RCDB and they are both in Europe so it would fit in with the "first in America" statement teased. It has no inversions and is strictly speed and airtime focused. These examples are not very big length wise and the 2027 coaster is rumored to be the longest/largest footprint coaster layout at the park once built so they could market the claim its the largest of its kind. It is also different enough to not make Wildfire and Powder Keg seem redundant.

Edit: Going back through the posts, this coaster was actually briefly mentioned near the beginning of this thread.

Can I just sit this one out? I'm old and don't care to play the whole back and forth banter game this time around.
I promise to still post photos, but I'm out on the whole guessing when they're going to announce and what it is.
Some on here care a lot more than I do. Go have fun. Make noise. Be more than likely wrong. I remember being young and enjoying those things.
I'll be at the park Saturday and will get photos again then. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to enjoying Epic Universe

It will do some first of its kind in America and break some records but Its not that deep. I dont what sources tell you guys otherwise but they are flat out wrong lol.
^The Dippin' Dots Man is here to ruin y'alls dreams of a hyper coaster.

But for real, a family coaster would be the best thing for the park.

Yes it will have its own unique flavor bridging high thrill and family coaster so the classifications kinda get thrown out the window here.

Last post by hollijo - June 09, 2026, 04:52:07 PMQuote from: shavethewhales on June 09, 2026, 01:12:21 PMRealized yesterday that I never posted the photos I took a week ago of the construction progress: https://imgur.com/a/nTq5yd7I agree, I feel like a lot of people in this forum are being mislead by what they presume project 2027 to be.
I would be surprised if this is a high thrill coaster, just because that means the park basically will be truly dominated by what most people would deem high thrill coasters. It seems like an odd choice for a place geared towards families. Also, why would you need another looping thrill coaster right next to Wildfire? Then again, why would you need another family launch coaster right next to PK unless it was a lot smaller?
There's not a lot of room to work with, nor are there many good records left to easily break, unless they are going for something incredibly niche. Knowing SDC, that might be exactly what they are doing.
