Hopefully one of the new shows is a return to the original music to the Christmas Carol. Since they changed the songs from the original ones it is unwatchable.

Don't get your hopes up; the change was made due to copyright issues.

The current path to the plaza has to cross the train tracks it looks like. Any idea if this plaza area will always be open? Or just for special events? Will there be open access from all sides including fire in the hole, and grand expo? IMO they need to loop all these dead ends they have created around the park.

Yes - it will be open all the time.  The train crossing will be managed just like the crossings at the new FITH and at the pottery shop.  Yes, I believe the plan is to complete the pedestrian loop from FITH to The Plaza to Grand Exposition.

The new plaza is fully across the tracks - no need to remove the Waterboggan tower.
It will not include new rides, just food booths, decorations, and a stage.  Like Shave said, hopefully it won't look like a parking lot when they're finished.  The new Christmas tree will be a live fir.

I'm trying to make heads or tails of Google's satellite view.  Is the new SDC property on the north or south side of Hwy 76?  If south, would the terrain allow for direct access to the existing theme park?

Ok, I’ll bite.  Where should I be looking?  We live 7 hrs away and won’t get down this year to poke around.

Read between the lines.  They told you more than you even realize.

Just spitballing with some educated guesses here...

Rebuild the Flooded Mine at the FITH 1.0 location and use the current FM footprint for a new/expanded train station?

We were there at Thanksgiving and commented on the larger use of busses.  It seems like it would be lower capacity and take longer to load/unload than the trams.  But you’re right - busses are climate controlled.   We actually ended up walking every time because the weather was nice and we weren’t terribly far away.  It’ll be interesting to see what the finished product looks like.

I don't think we discussed it much on here, but that new pretzel dog restaurant is going to be huge.

It does look huge.  I hadn't seen this image before, but here's a drawing of the new pretzel shop from a presentation during ACE's Coaster Christmas event.  Can anyone add any more context?   I assume this front elevation is on the main path across from the Boatworks Theater.  Does the upper story on the right side cross the pumpkin path?

Exciting news all around …

What are our insiders saying about long term projects (i.e. what will go where FITH is now?)

I’m not sure - it’s not listed on the allergen page, but SDC is very good about addressing dietary needs.
