Has anyone been to the park lately and got any new pics of the site? Been hoping for an update.

Dollywood Discussion / Re: The last remnant of Dollywood's Flooded Mine Demolished
January 27, 2022, 09:07:14 AM
The flooded mine was located where daredevil Falls is now. The Cave had inventors mansion, which was similar to grandfathers mansion, above it. It was then turned in the Dolly museum when dollywood opened. For a short while the building was used for the roller coaster museum but then sat vacant for the longest time. There were some references to the flooded mine inside the cave though.
When the flooded mine opened at Silver Dollar city Tennessee the big story/theme in the area was that one eye Jack escaped the flooded mine and is loose inside of Craftsmans valley.
Inside the cave was a great place to cool off, and for a while there was a gem mining store and arcade inside of it which has been closed for years.
People will miss the cave, but I believe it'll open up the walkway from the village, where the train is to Craftsman's valley.

I believe that they leave the house on the map as a reference point on the map to help locate places around the park.

Dollywood Discussion / Re: The Inventor's Mansion

The Inventors Mansion at SDC/DW first opened in 1979 at the bottom of Craftsmen's Valley. It was the 3rd attraction added to Silver Dollar City Tennessee since the name change. The rides started with the first being the Flooded Mine in 1977, Blazing Fury 1978, and then "The Great Inventors Mansion" 1979.
According to a map I have from the 1986, the first season of Dollywood, it shows the Inventors Mansion attraction gone and replaced with Dolly Parton's "Rages to Riches" Dolly Parton Story Museum within the same building the Inventors Mansion previously occupied.
In 2002, Dollywood Blvd. was renovated into Adventures in Imagination and featured the "Chasing Rainbows" Dolly Parton Museum. This is the time that the museum moved from the Mansion into the new area.
I am really not 100% sure of anything else that was in the building after 2002 till the present. I have heard it was used for meeting space and storage, but don't quote me on that!
To this day, the mansion still sits high on the hill overlooking Rivertown Junction and surrounding areas and you can still walk through the cave underneath it that connects Craftsmen's Valley and The Village.
I hope that this helps!

Barnstormer will have loose article bins. If you look at photo 13 of 14 on the March 14th updated on the website, it shows a bin.

Yes, That is the flooded mine from Silver Dollar City TN/ Dollywood. When that ride closed, alot of the props were moved into the Blazing Fury.

It was neat to see Fire in the hole look so "old" NEW on the outside. It also shows a splash down of the ride that looks like Blazing Fury with the red trains. Still AWESOME!

I believe that both parks have big things up their sleeves.
You never know, a Mystery Mine type coaster at SDC would be nice and maybe an Ozark Mountain Adventure. (Adventure Mountain) might be possible.
