Random Talk / Branson Area Landscaping
August 15, 2022, 04:15:23 PM
I have noticed that Silver Dollar City, Big Cedar, etc. all seem to use similar styles in their landscaping.
Is there a reason?
Is it a particular style or is it just from them all using stone from the area?

Have any of you been using this to get into the park? If so, how smooth has that process been?

Let the speculation begin....

My wife noticed today when she linked her season pass to the SDC application that it now stores the barcode from her pass. Has anyone entered the park using their SDC app/season pass?

I tracked down Rex Morton and was able to order/receive a gift for my wife for Christmas.

He is working from home in Missouri and can make anything you would have seen when he had the shop at the park. (I'm sure other custom stuff too if you ask)

If you would like to get a hold of him:

We will be coming down in October and I am looking for suggestions on places to stop between (but not actually in) St. Louis and Branson. We normally drive down at night and don't get to make many stops or take detours so we are thinking this might be a good opportunity to see places we don't normally.

Normally, we take 44 West to Springfield and then 65 down to Branson but we are willing to consider alternate/longer routes if it is worth it.

Considerations: 5 year old daughter

Some places we have already been:
Onondaga Cave
Six Flags
Uranus Fudge Factory (I know, don't judge)

Thanks in advance...

What do you do with them when everybody you know that would visit SDC already has a season pass?

This showed up in the surveys last year and I thought someone mentioned it was being worked on by the company. Has anyone heard anything more about if/when?

Any word on when it will be opening?

Also, anyone ever been to another of her restaurants? If so, what did you think?

February 06, 2019, 07:42:42 PM
While scrolling through YouTube tonight I found that John has a YouTube page and a new album coming out:

Unfortunately, it was through watching these videos that I found out that his wife Jan passed in November of last year. 🙁

I believe his name was Rex Morton. Does anybody know what happened to him and where he is now?
Does he still do work with copper?

We will be visiting family in June and I just wondered what things are on people's "must do" lists for that area? We are pretty sure we are going to the aquarium:

Branson Talk / Missouri Mountain Moonshine?
April 14, 2016, 04:48:32 AM
I have been following TGC Photography on Instagram now for a while now because she takes a lot of really good photos at/of Silver Dollar City as well as around Branson and the general area.

She posted this last night:

So,  has anybody been here? Thoughts on it? http://www.momtnmoonshine.com

SDC Memories/ Park History / Who remembers this song?
January 17, 2016, 08:16:39 AM
I was listening to Pandora the other day and this randomly started playing:

I have strong memories of John Corbin singing this while playing his dulcimer.

What is the best deal? In the past we have just bought the booklets but it seems like there should be a better deal.

Branson Talk / Family Reunion - good places to stay?
August 28, 2014, 07:24:31 PM
We will be down in October and will have 7 Adults and 4 children with us. A few years ago we did this and stayed in a 3 bedroom condo at Still Waters. This worked out really well because it allowed everyone their own space/privacy and a common area to eat meals/hang out.

Are there other places like this that we should consider?

Best way to get a good deal?

Thanks,
Matt
