White Water Discussion / Waikiki Wave
« on: June 05, 2024, 03:50:52 PM »
Forgive me for sounding dumb but just had a couple questions. This last weekend was my first trip to White WAter in close to 10-15 years. I know they took Bermuda Triangle out for Kapau but a couple things i noticed. Did they change the name from Raging River Rapids to Waikiki Wave to fit more of the hawaiian theme? And looking at the end pool of that slide. to the left of the tan slide it looks to be two indentions in the wall like old ride channels. Any ideas on if they redid those or just from an old slide. Thanks yall

Construction/Rumors / Re: Next new ride, next to go?

I'd love to see them make use of the big waterboggan tower. Would be nice to use it as an observation deck or somehow make another incarnation of the waterboggan. I think it could be made into ADA compliant if they had an elevator or lift to go to the top in.

Just curious. What's everyone's thoughts on what next new ride is going to be, and which is the next to go?

Construction/Rumors / Re: Future SDC Development Speculation (Long-term)
« on: November 08, 2023, 12:48:41 PM »
A GCII to replace TNT would be decent, but I'd rather they simply come in and do a proper replacement with a new "mine train" that mimics the original with some additional sweeping turns or something. SDC needs a true family coaster like TNT. It's an important part of the coaster lineup and for many of us that was our introduction to "big" roller coasters.

I love wooden coasters to death, but we all know they are a challenge to care for. SDC doesn't need any more challenges at the moment.

Thunderation was the first coaster i ever rode, I love it but can't hardly get anyone in my group to ride with me because its a rough ride. Anybody else notice that theres a dip or bump or something right at the end of the helix as you're going through the tunnel? I'm not sure if i'm imagining or not but it seems like they're running it faster than it used to be. Still a great coaster nonetheless.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Outlaw Run restraints?
« on: November 08, 2023, 12:44:48 PM »
I was just curious because my first thought was I was never that small and was able to ride it. The belts now are like for someone really thin. That was a fun one to ride. I hope FITH 2.0 has something like the same style lapbar as the original.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Outlaw Run restraints?
« on: November 08, 2023, 10:21:29 AM »
Correct me if i'm wrong but did they change the restraints on Outlaw Run a few years ago? I rode it back in 2016 and fit just fine. Tried the test seat out and i couldnt even get the lap belt thing to come over my sides. Still around the same weight and height i was back then. also dont remember the restraints over the legs. Didn't know if they changed belts or what.
