It is goin to be the longest ride in the park. I have heard a lot of things from people lately painting it out to be Silver Dollar City's take on Big Bear Mountain. I cant wait to see how marketing spins it to be the "biggest" "longest" whatever in North America or "West of the Missippi" haha.

As much as I wish this was a Mack hyper its just not lol. Its a TNT replacement done by Mack. Gonna be a cool mine-train thats family friendly but not very "thrilling"

February 17, 2026, 12:51:32 PMQuote from: Kisco on February 17, 2026, 11:04:12 AMI know this is totally a different thought, but TNT is somewhat near the entrance. What if they are starting to make room to redo the entrance? Maybe a new cave entrance? The mining reference makes people think of the cave. I know it could just be theming for a new ride, but what if they are working to make changes to the cave. The current cave entrance hasn't changed much for decades. It would require a lot of buildings to go away or change and a lot of dirt work, but they moved a lot of dirt just for parking and the entrance definitely needs some attention.I know a new Front entrance is in the plans over the next 5ish years. It all makes sense, I dont know if it will take up the land from Thunderation but I would expect a new Front Entrance by 2032 at least.

Its a tough situation because Thudneration was losing them money. The ride costs them so much to maintain and all great things have to come to an end at somepoint or another. With that being said this is not a Hyper coaster (all those rumors are just wishful thinking) This is going to be an Elite family coaster with 2/3 lift-hills that interacts well with the terrain and tells a great story. I am not worried about the future at all. Corporate knows their target market and new additions will continue to reflect that. All we can hope it to eventually get something thrill related in the near future. But as of now family focus is the mode of operation.

A launch out of the station down the hill with a pause for a little show, then something explodes back would be so sick, especially of themed right with the caves and such. 70 to 80 mph would be sick, but that's wishful thinking. This is going to be something the entire family can enjoy. (The Herschened Way) I'd expect some insane theming and cool story with caves, etc...
Going to be interested to see how Herschend's Markets it though, considering Time Traveler was kinda marketed as a "family thrill ride" if this is the same, then who knows how wild it will actually be.

Right on, there is no world in which this new ride opens in 2026 lol. SDC does an incredible job of marketing new large-scale rides (which is what this is). This will not be a "small-scale" family ride or anything like that. It will be a massive family ride with a ton of tech and features that will take every bit of another year and a half to complete. However, it will be well worth the wait. Herschend also does not open large attractions at SDC and Dollywood in the same year.
