General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2019 Daily Attendance

I am wanting to go up this week but Ozark Valley is booked Friday/Saturday and it looks like everything else in Branson is just about booked or more than I want to pay.  Thought about staying in Springfield and just driving back and forth, or going on Sunday.  Do you think Friday night will be swamped?  What about Saturday night?  Sunday?

Everything is booked due to the cal Ripken series. Iím not sure how that will affect attendance though.

We got here at 2:15ish. Had no issue finding a parking spot. Waited in no lines until 6:30, though we chose to avoid long lines like time traveler.

They rode every ride in the expo, Caleb on time traveler, all the kids rode thunderstorm twice.

Wow!  That Thunderstorm sounds like a dandy new ride.  Haven't caught that one before....Lol.... ;)

Stupid autocorrect!  Hahahaha

It was a beautiful, hot day at the city. We got there for rope drop. We waited in no lines except for river blast around 2 pm. We had my nieces with us and they wanted to ride the wave carousel.  We now remember why we donít ride it often. It took them 10 minutes just to load the ride. They didnít all make it on the same rotation so we had to wait through it twice. Ugh.

Lots of progress on the rib house this trip. The Mexican restaurant is definitely one of our favorites. They rode every ride in the expo, Caleb on time traveler, all the kids rode thunderstorm twice. Hit up the saloon show and there were some new one liners and a new prop. Our visitors loved it!  I didnít recognize any of the girls this time. Two runs through grandfathers mansion and a run through the taffy stop and we were done.

We will be back next weekend for moonlight madness. We will have our month-long foreign exchange student with us.

So, sdc is definitely NOT Disney. Youíll find flexibility will go a long way in making your day great. Itís a good idea to know what youíd like to ride but donít plan an order. You will find that everything is close together so itís easy to hop all over the park to find a ride that doesnít have a long line. You will find a much more relaxed environment.

Iíd recommend the week of the 10th over the week of the 24th. Earlier in the week is better.. say Tuesday and Wednesday.

Iíd be super surprised if your 9 year old is shorter than 48 inches. Your 7 year old may be over 48 inches as well. To get their official sdc heights go to the measuring station in the grand expo first. They will measure your kids and give them wrist bands that will expedite you getting in the rides.

Skip the trailblazer. It costs a lot and there is no good reason to have it for the rides you are looking at. The only one you might considering rushing too first is powder keg. Weíve seen the line well over an hour long this season but not often.

Most of these you will be able to do in a day. However, 2 days is a great idea too. Again, a slower pace here   Donít compulsive plan it. Go with the flow and you will have a great time!

Wish I could slice my 21 yr old in half:  I didn't realize the guest passes are blacked out tomorrow, and that is the only day we can go  :-[ :'(

We have passes that are good tomorrow. Did you buy yours later than the end of January?

A little over 12,000 people today...  Would have been a beautiful day to be there today..

We were there. In general lines were quite long. But we were able to see the shows we wanted to see by giving up rides. The temp was good but the wind was quite chilly.

Photos from today. Feel free to use them if you need them for something. The first photo is new concrete poured. This was close to the old entrance for lost river.

It would have been a great weekend to go. Why didnít we go?  Ycw. We made that mistake one time. They didnít care that my kids were 5. They cut in front of them anyway to ride the kiddie coaster. Now we avoid this weekend because I donít want to deal with that.

Tony and I would be considered ďmillennialsĒ, albeit old ones. Lol. We have 3 kids, 11, 11 and 7. We live on a tight budget, mainly due to our kidsí traveling sports.

We buy passes to sdc each year. We go at least once a month if not more often. When do we go in to the city of Branson?  When white water is open. I can add ww season passes to our sdc passes for minimal cost. Both are a great value for us. We live an hour and a half away from Branson so itís an easy day trip.

For me to take my family to go karts, itís $50 for 10ish minutes of fun. Mini golf, depending on the course, is $8-12. So, another $50 on average. A day at Fritzís adventure will cost us $140.00 without food or drink. If we stay the night, we have 2 options: a suite or a rollaways. Most places no longer have roll always or they are taken. So we are at around $100 a night for a hotel.

Branson has little to do for free. Unless you want to hike, you pay for every little thing you do. If you want to attract millennials and their families in to town, affordable options is what the town needs. Donít build an aquarium thatís going to cost me $30-$50 to walk in the door. Because, to be completely honest, we can drive to Galveston, spend more days there and spend less money.
