I have not been to Frontier city for a couple of years, think it was year before last when we had season passes.  I may get them again next year and skip SDC, maybe.  I actually think their log ride is better than SDC.  At least they have some scenery to look at in the tunnel.

I could not remember what the tumbleweed was so I pulled up their website and could not find it.  So I googled it then remembered what it was.  While looking at the rides it listed Diamondback and Wildcat as temp closed.  Is that some sort of live update thing like the SDC app?  Or are those rides shut down for some reason?

I was looking at the app the other day from the house just to see how busy the rides were during the holiday weekend.  It said many rides had 0 minute wait which I know there could be no way they had not wait on a holiday weekend.

I wonder though if the removal of the guns isn't political based, but based on people's entitlement?

It's a thought, but I think it's likely kind of a mix of the two and really comes down to people who don't like guns.  They don't want their kids to play with them.  They don't want to see them used.  Guns are dangerous so don't be near them. Or just plain anti-gun.

I know when I worked there we would sometimes see the complaints, and usually they were along the lines of, "I can't believe you use real guns or ones that make us think they are real."  Like many things they've removed, it's people being oversensitive and offended over things so the park removes them, even if they're a very small number For example, the line about why is ma smiling?  Because that man next to her isn't our pa.  We'd get 2 or 3 complaints a year, out of a couple of million guests.  But that was enough to remove it.

When you work there and people complained, who did they complain to and/or how were you made aware of their complaints?  This is ridiculous.

I think it was last year or the year before I got to thinking about an end to the guns because they might offend people.  Seems like there might have been some posts about it, but sure enough here we go.

I don't recall seeing this mentioned here before but maybe it has and I just now thought of it.  Anyway, the last time I was at the city earlier in the month it appeared they are no longer using the shotgun for the robbery.  The conductor was using what appeared and sounded to me to be a cap gun.  The robbers appeared to have wooden guns in their holsters.  Is this some change to be more PC like everything else seems to be or something else?

Yes, the wait times on the app are just about worthless.  I watched it either Saturday or Sunday, can't remember, which, and it said 0 wait time on a bunch of rides that I knew darn well would not have a 0 wait time on a weekend.

Yes, the last time I rode FITH there was no much or sounds at all except the part about the stolen pants.  There was no bridge collapse or train horn noise.

Well it all worked out in the end.  Ended up at WW by about noon or so, stayed till around 5pm.  The wife and kid liked it, I can take it or leave it.  I can only do WW 1 day in a row for sure.  Went to SDC Sunday till about 1 then they were ready to leave.

I noticed on my visit today to FM, at the part where the explosion happens and water floods down from above, the explosion part seems to be working again with water blowing up from below right before the water coming from above.  In the part where the guy is trying to pump the water out and it used to come out of the pipe he was turning the pump on, that part does not work.  I don't recall any of the music playing anywhere thru the ride.  The pond out from that now has all the new buildings in front of it is starting to look more like a stagnant sewer pond. Also, I thought we were going to get stuck on it at one point.  Coming out of the station the boats seemed to have gotten stuck for a minute.  Also seemed to be moving slower than normal all during the ride.  I rode it again later and did not notice this.  On another note, the guy with the long grey hair and beard who used to work at FM was playing Alfie the train robber today. I guess he moved over there.

Yes, it was not too bad today.  We rode most coasters once, and rode the train and FM.  Attempted to ride TT when we got there, but after spending about 30 minutes in line it broke down with a train stuck out on the first launch.  We left by about 1pm.  I was wore out from the day before at WW.

Well part 1 of the plan was a bust. After driving about 2.5 hours then exiting the high road onto 76, it took about an hour to get thru the traffic and get parked in preferred parking. Upon exiting the car and getting about half way up the hill toward the crossing where the trams come thru, the kid begins getting sick right were people are waking thru. We then just headed back to the car where it took another 20 minutes to fight our way out to the exit. So not sure what the crowds are today but does not look pretty. This was arriving just a little after 9:30. I guess we may head to WW in a little bit if the kid is still not sick.

Something fishy seems to be going on here, and a big part of the story seems to be missing.  I wonder what the real story is?

General Silver Dollar City Talk / SDC/Whitewater trip
« on: June 05, 2018, 05:44:39 PM »
This is the first year we have had dual season passes so I have a room booked at the Classic Motor Inn for Saturday.  So how does it usually go as far as crowds at WW?  We have never been and not sure what to except or how to plan.  Here are my 4 scenarios I am imagining.

1. Arrive at SDC as close to opening Saturday morning like we normally do, get our rides in before the crowds get too bad, leave around noon-1pm then head to WW

2. Arrive at SDC Saturday later in the after afternoon after having lunch, say around 2-3, stay till closing, then go to WW Sunday when they open and leave around 2-3Pm to head home

3. Spend both days at WW

4. Arrive at opening at WW on Saturday, spend all day, then arrive at SDC at opening on Sunday and stay till 2-3pm.

So the big questions are, does WW get so busy you can enjoy yourself like SDC does?  In other words, would it be worth while to try option 1?  I assume WW is like SDC in that is would be busier Saturday than Sunday?
