Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2017 Project(s) and Park Developments

Do we know where it will be yet then?

By GE?  Seen from the 76 entrance?

Where else could it go if it's not behind the waterfall?  I know the Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks can cram coaster all over there flat parking lot parks but SDC seems limited in places to build while maintaining it's charm.

Is there room out by OR?  South of AP? Behind FL?  Behind the wilderness church? 'petting zoo' area?

Branson Talk / Re: Minor League Baseball in Branson
« on: February 09, 2016, 07:51:49 PM »
I don't see this happening.  Both Springfield (Cardinals) and NWA (Royals) have very successful AA teams that have good and newer stadiums with good attendance.  The owners aren't going to allow any new teams enter that market and they aren't going to be moving without a crazy deal.  I can't imagine Branson being approved for anything beyond a low minor independent team.  Remember that all levels of baseball are still a monopoly and owners protect each other.  Plus...like previously mentioned.....Branson doesn't have the population base to support 2-5k fans a night (for 40 nights a year) even with the tourists?

If you did that to me in front of my kids I'd probably say no too.  Depends on the approach.  It's a pride thing....I not going to take a handout in front of the family.

Plus...I have never 'needed' free tickets due to have season passes and/or already planning to pay.  By saying no it can feel like your helping in help someone else.

I'm not surprised it might take awhile to find someone to take for free.

I remember the Ice House concept from the survey years ago.  I thought it was great....though a DW Mystery Mine type of ride doesn't seem very family friendly....I'd rather either have to big crazy coaster or lighter nicely themed family experience.

Didn't they have the horse racing concept too?

Does SDC own the land on the other side of Indian Point Drive?

It would be cool if the could build a coaster over the road to the woods on the other side from GE/Hollow.  Would add to the 'entrance experience' and maybe still keep the riders in the theme park SDC past for most of the ride?

I doubt that they would get approval to build over a public road though.  Or maybe under it with a tunnel?

Just doesn't seem to be enough room for a major ride in my mind.  Would have to be somewhat condensed or open to either the park or street.

is the chutes made of metal or plastic?  Support metal or wood?

That lift hill could be a big lighting rod with all the equipment and water.

Do the parks have rods around the rides to help prevent this?

Wow....

I could see Parson Stadium happen....it really needs restroom upgrades!!!!  Maybe they could book more events.  Place could be great for mid-level concerts and festivals.  It is already a great place for Demo Derbys and Monster Truck shows (and rodeos).

The opera place is in the middle of nowhere?  30 min drive to Eureka?  45 to Rogers?  Guess that is part of the attraction?  Good luck to them.

What a disappointment.  I'm assuming this might be happening to capitalize on the PEANUTS movie?

Planet Snoopy is already one of the biggest kids sections I've ever seen.  The last thing the park needed was more kids rides in that area.  Doesn't make me want to take a trip back up there and I have 4 kids who would ride them.

Should have done a Snoopy dark ride instead.

I've always dreamed that they will put in a floorless B&M with some Orient Express elements back in the Orient section.

Would it be possible to connect GE with the FL?  expand the loop?  close off the path at the RR crossing?

Not sure if I'd like that or not.....but I've wondered the past few years if that was in the long term plans and I haven't been this year to see how FL got laid out.
