Frontier City is looking better every time I see it. It doesn't look like much, but the new owners have put a TON of work into the place. It wasn't worth visiting just a couple of years ago because every inch of the park was in so much decay. I think they've re-painted just about every single ride now, not to mention they've refurbished the dark ride extensively and even added a new coaster. I never thought I'd see the day that happened. I just wish they could turn their attention back to adding a worthy thrill ride - the OKC crowd is ready for something new.

^They have to be careful on what they DO add though.  The infrastructure to eat up any crowd that might come due to a huge new thrill ride is not there.  Every single coaster is very low on pph considering they only have one train for each.  There is a very limited amount of flat rides and honestly the amount of restrooms and "open and functioning" places to eat is very small considering the size of the park.  I agree the park is turning around slowly, but still has a long way to go before it is even a "blip" on the radar for anyone other then the extreme locals.  Shoot I know people from the area that would rather travel to WOF, SDC or SFoT then go to FC

I always hated FC when I lived there.  I've been back a time or two in the last 15 years, for my dad's company picnics, and definitely would not pay more than two bucks to go there.  It is a great place to pick up teenage girls, though (if you're a teenage boy, that is).  That is the demographic of the visitors.  It can't compete with the likes of SDC without a major image makeover to include more sophisticated attractions for adults (besides rides) and greater attention to theming.  There are bunches of things that could go with Oklahoma's history that could be included, and some terrific festivals that could be included.  The best times I've had there were when I was too young to know better, and during one of their first haunted seasons (of course, I was in that younger demographic then).  FC is everything I hope SDC does not become by just bringing in a ride and creatively naming to justify its inclusion into the theme (Gotta do more than that to make it work correctly.).  And I, too, am baffled by the inclusion of Paul Bunyan; that kids area used to be more appropriately themed and was a part of the park that I enjoyed.

I have always wanted to go see the WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE.   Looks like so much fun.  Plus I really like old houses.

^Yes it has -- but at the same time I have not been able to get to the local parks as much this summer... I guess it's a trade off.  Not been to SDC since the 50th weekend.  'Course I don't really like going during Kidsfest anyway.

More to come.  It just takes a bit of time to get these together.  ;D

Things look pretty good at the California parks...especially since Governor Arnold is considering cutting back many state workers pay to minimum wage! I guess despite the economy, the weather is always sunny in CA!
