Heart Of The Hollow

Here is where you can post rumors about the Possible White Water Relocation to somewhere by the SDC resort.

I know enough to take non-official comments with a grain of salt, but yesterday our cave guide was talking about how SDC is always growing and expanding and then he explicitly said they're opening a new resort and "moving White Water there next year."

Not news... just passing along the comment.

That lines up with the things I've heard too. It will possibly be located in the valley where the former Indian Ridge homes were.

All in will say is there's A LOT of moving parts right now.  Keep an eye on who owns land between the apartments and the new resort.  Seems like there's been some interesting occurrences here lately.

One of my biggest questions about this potential project is if it'll be a relocation of everything from White Water or if it'll be a completely new park with new slides and attractions.

10 years ago I'd say that Branson has enough people visiting during the summer to warrant the need for another water park, and I could have seen SDC selling White Water's attractions to the city or 3rd party and build completely new.

But now I'm not entirely sure if that's feasible. I've only been to WW twice in the last few years, so I can't say what it's attendance is like. But it never seems like it's busy when driving by.

Whatever they do, I hope they retheme it to something closer to SDC. I was never a fan of the tropical theme they gave WW

It gets very busy, rest assured. The best part about Whitewater? It's small and everything is close together. The worst part about Whitewater? It's small, can feel cramped on busy days, and has few good options to expand or build new changing rooms for that matter. (It could be argured that my local community center in Harrison has better changing rooms.) I love how small it is and how easy it is to get to, and I would miss it. But I have been bracing for a move for years. Hopefully the new one would have a shuttle that runs between gates to make going between the two parks easier.

I'm digging into the Stone County GIS data... looks like there are three companies that own land between the park and the resort: Destiny, Fulton BSH, and Nora's Ridge.  I assume the last one is a legitimate condo/timeshare/short term rental development.  I have no idea what Destiny does other than own land all over the area.  The one that piques my interest the most is Fulton BSH as it appears to be a "back-end corporate holding shell used by out-of-state institutional investors to purchase, develop, or finance premium commercial real estate tracts—such as high-end vacation rentals, resort infrastructure, or major acreage".  In 2023, they received $5.2 million from Bank of America.  I'm not a local, so I don't know anything personally about these companies.  Am I on the right track?

I did a little more searching and I see that Nora's Ridge just purchased that parcel in 2025 and just had it rezoned (C-2) this past June.  Any chance that's a shell corporation for Herschend?
