I don't think there is much space to add any food or shops.  That said, it's possible they will add 1 or 2 very small food/shops on the path. If they are doing that, I think they will announce it at Fan Fest.

So the new ride is not a new area other than the connecting path? Just the ride?

I imagine we will learn more on 9/18 but it seems there will at least be a couple shops.

For those disappointed in the scale of the ride: it's a thunderation replacement, and SDC is investing 500 million into the park over the next decade. At the very least, we will get one more large coaster, if not multiple.

I rode NightFlight Expedition a few times and it is a really fun ride system. I don't really see how you could keep the shooting aspect of Flooded Mine with it. I think you could do a really cool ride based on Flooded Mine, but I also think the park would need another target shooting ride. We really miss having one at Dollywood.

It is pretty interesting thinking about the attractions that SDC doubled down on that didn't really stick at Dollywood. Gyser Gultch/Firemans's Landing compared to Raintree Forest come to mind.

Flooded mine wasn't originally a shooting ride. It was just a boat ride through with fun scenes to watch. You could remake that on a grand scale with an indoor rocking boat like Nightflight.

I certainly preferred Flooded Mine as a traditional dark ride, but that's my childhood memories.  I would like to see a NightFlight style dark boat ride and then, if people are really clamoring for it, add a shooting gallery somewhere else in the City.  I just don't see a strong public desire for that anymore, though.  A lot of parks have gotten rid of shooting rides and/or galleries over the last 20 years. Just my perspective. 

"Two in the front seat, two in the back seat, and only one in the middle" has become part of my family's everyday lexicon.  The Flooded Mine is something all four generations of my family can do together, regardless of the shooting or not.  I hope it gets a faithful reinvention somewhere on park.

Or it's just there has not been any good pictures to get until today. These things have appeared fast since last Sunday, when they were focusing on steel work in the station, including the crossover stairs. Also the maintenance bay has gone vertical since last Sunday. It's been burning hot here so we've been having to take it slow at the park and top off on lemonade generously.

Loving the color of the supports. Excited to see the earthwork and theming start to come together too. I kinda wish they'd enclose one or two of the canyon-like earthwork elements there so that it feels just a bit more mine-like.

The other thing that is awesome is how American Plunge looks to become more incorporated with the Daredevil Pass pathway by running directly alongside it, and will surely add more excitement to both rides with it all becoming intertwined like that. Wonder if they'll make any enhancements or improvements inside the American Plunge tunnel  ...
