Speaking of 2027 projects, the billboards on US 65 between Branson and Springfield now say the resort will open in 2027. Previous billboards had an opening date of late 2026.

I pretty much expected that. It makes sense to open it in concert with the new coaster.

Lots of interesting stuff in this short clip.  Anyone know exactly what we're seeing?  Obviously PowderKeg is in testing with a modified launch.  Is this a planned change/upgrade or relates to the new 2027 ride?

Here's the full video from Terry Wayne Sanders: https://www.facebook.com/reel/882097074816055

That's just a rollback - its's what happens when the train doesn't make it over the first hill after a launch. I'm guessing that it is just a normal part of testing when bringing a ride out of hibernation.  PowderKeg is a compressed air launch so a swing launch isn't possible.

Thank you so much for posting this! I've been looking for footage of a PowderKeg rollback for FOREVER! Between this and the Buzzsaw Falls, PoV, lots of SDC lost media is being found!

On second watch, the little area where you could view powderkeg's launch is being completely redone. Honestly a little sad about that since that corner was one of my favorite places to relax.

edit: Is terry allowed to post these behind the scenes videos? his lines sound scripted so I wonder if its a marketing campaign by SDC to keep us speculating...

The speculation front has been quite interesting to say the least. It's gone from being a Mack Hyper or Stryker to a Vekoma Launch Coaster, the impractical being a single rail low capacity S&S/RMC coaster themed to mine carts, to the silly with it being another Mack Spinner. If it is a replacement Mine Train I can only figure SDC is gonna market it as the world's largest and fastest Mine Train or something to keep the titles they had with TNT as it was the tallest and fastest of it's kind. Hopefully we see the first track put in place to confirm the manufacturer later this month but I still hold firm it's 99% a Mack product based on the footers.

Do note Terry's comment about it being big and the additional large footers built on that little hill there in the construction footage...

what about a Mack hyper with a minetrain theme? would certainly be first of its kind

What were the names in the survey. Possible names for the new Coaster.

I have to say these names feel like something straight out of Rollercoaster Tycoon. If I have to choose here ...probably Daredevil Railway.

As for a Hyper Mine Train, that would be out of left field for sure. The park really could use an airtime machine with speed hills and no inversions or spinning. Would also be neat if they designed Macks Hypercoaster trains to look like TNT.
