Great pictures!  So amazing you got to be a part of that celebration!  As a dad of a former band member (my son played tuba and sousaphone in the Bauxite Arkansas High School Band from 7th - 12th grade) I know how proud you are of those kids.

We need to meet Swoosh!  We have two great things in common... Band Directing Awesome Kids and a love of SDC!

Where do you teach?
Not sure when the next time I will be down to the 'City.  I'm getting ready to head to the East Coast for my annual vacation -- then when I get back it's time to get things ready for Band Camp.  *the joys of being a band director*

I taught in NW Arkansas all of my career until 2 years ago made "the" movie to a small town in East Texas.  Great move for us.  We are headed for Branson in two weeks.  It and SDC are the one thing we miss terribly!  Who ever said band directors get summers off....  ;D

At least you don't have to carry a snare drum around for four hour band camps ;). Gotta love band!

Mine are 4 - 6 or 7 depending on what group is up for a section rehearsal!  We also have to balance our time around East Texas heat.  110 degrees and marching fundamentals are no fun!
