That's The problem. I didn't like the food

Well of course -- but you have to remember, not all of us can afford to have a culinary chef work in our house preparing all of our meals, so forgive us for enjoying the meal.

???
It's called sarcasm.

wow.  Did I really just have to explain to someone that I was being sarcastic? O.O

Time and time again, you really come off as quite a jerk.  Grow up.

I know the mods probably won't like my honesty, and sorry to others for hijacking a good thread, but somebody had to say it sometime.  I can't be the only one shaking my head when I read some of his rude crap.
Small wonder our lives have so little of God in them, when we come in touch with so little that God has made.

Hard to take your post serious when you resort to name calling.  That's just as rude.  Stop taking the internet so seriously.

That's what I figured.  To me the food is very tasty.  Do you like the food on the SBB?

WOW!!  OK. Moving right along here..  another good deal in town is the "Almost Famous Murder Mystery Theatre"

regular price is about 36-38 bucks.....  I was able to get us "SDCFans" a discount there of 30 bucks...  include dinner and a comedy theatre..

The meal is catered in and the meal I had over the weekend was great! baked chicken, baby red taters, green beans, salad, roll, pice of cake fro dessert..

the murder mystery is an audience participation comedy, very funny.. I have been following this group for 4 years. they do a great job.. it is a small theatre, attendecne runs 100- 150 people usually.... the show is based on a "murder", BUT no real violence and is something the whole family can attend...   check them out,,,

If you want more info..  PM me.,

Actually I am a fan of the food on the showboat. Maybe it was just the lack of silverware  ;)

sanddunerider

Showboat always has a great meal...  and this is the last year of the current show......

Will be all new in 2015.....  that's good for me, I didn't care for the show they have now with the showmen.....

Okie-may I ask you a question?
Do you (or did you in the past) smoke cigarettes?
Im not judging at all.  I am simply saying that over time smoking does kill your "tastebuds".  I know very many smokers who seem to constantly complain at the taste of something, that I usually find very tasty. BTW I do not, nor never did, smoke.

Of course everyones taste for food is very different. It not unusual for different people to like different foods. It says nothing about "you" as a person.  I am sorry you did not like Dixie food though.  At least there are several food choices in Branson. And thats why. Different people like different foods.

Enjoy your day folks.

They tried silverware at the Orlando Dixie Stampede and it was a huge failure.
I like the taste of the food at both locations, but I find the food settles better at DS than SBB.  I know, TMI

To be honest it tasted ok (and yes I am a former smoker, and twenty years of smoking has killed my ability to smell). The baked (I think) chicken that we had sticks to your hands and makes my hands feel gross. I'm weird about food consistencies. I guess this makes me a horrible person  ;)

The show was good, but I don't know if it was worth what it cost me to go see it. We went on our wedding night and I'm thinking with the $5 SDC discount it was still > $80 for the two of us.

;) The preceding remark was made with tongue firmly implanted in cheek and was not intended to anger, upset, defame, disturb, molest, annoy, bother, disenfranchise, discombobulate, perturb, offend, or PO anyone on this forum ;) Thanks, Okiebluegrass  ;D

Another amazing attraction that we have talked about before, and I want to mention again for the newcomers is the Robert Foster Museum, Located in the College of Ozarks...  Admittance is less than 10 bucks for adults. This place is big, has 4 full floors of goodies to look at... almost all of it is Ozark and area history. 1 floor is primarily weapons and ammo, it is a huge collection. They are closed on sunday, other than that, open all the time... check them out, along with the other sites at the college...  there is a free tractor museum, outlook, nice park to relax in, bakery you can tour and other things to do..  you can lose 5-6 hours here real easy.....

Has anyone heard about the current status of SOTH?  Is it still a no-go this year?

sanddunerider

Nothing concrete about SOTH, some rumors about the college taking over but have not seen anything since last fall.....

However, there is a new dinner show:

Very affordable for what you get to see Sanddune! Polar bears, Elephant Ears, Birds, Deer, any animal you can think of shot and stuffed! PETA would hate the place!

WOW!!! That sounds like a nice show. Looks like I might have to "try" to put that on my 2014 things to do list.

OKIE - NO! you are not a horrible person (regardless of whether or not you like certain foods or food places). I actually do understand what you are saying. I do think the "childlike" fun of eating with your fingers is what makes Dixie what it is. But I know that I always excuse myself almost immediately after eating, to go wash my hands proper.

Truth is, we all like/dislike certain things by design. (I for one absolutely despises spinach) I cant really explain why, nor do I care to try. It is just part of what makes me-me. No need to explain those things.  Everyone here is great and special made.  OKIE, you didnt offend us.
