I myself have never had it linked to my email.  I just check and guess.

If I was able I would disable that feature and take it back to before an email would be sent to notify of a new post! that, or I inundate everyone with so many messages on here that it appears as if I am crying wolf, so when I do end up posting a new image, people don't feel like checking it.
