Glad you had a great time! Wasn't sure if you all had enough sleep....bless your hearts for driving back after a full day at SDC. Did you get some rest today at least?  ;)

Sadie's? OK i will put that on the "don't do" list...  sounds like you a had a good weekend otherwise.  good for you!

It first opened in 1982, and I haven't been there in probably 25 years. With the wife being a vegetarian, I doubt we'd go for the fried foods anyway!

what? never heard of fried ochra?

Not that her avoiding meat ever stopped us from going to Famous Dave's or Cracker Barrel!

Got into OKC at 2AM. Slept until 10AM and did church online. Relaxed pretty much all day. The drive home was pretty interesting as Joely doesn't drive right now because her license is expired. Energy drinks kept me awake until I got home.

Now thats having priorities.! ;D

Usually we have certain places to frequent that have meatless choices. Italian and Mexican restaurants ALWAYS have choices for her. Most "American" places do not since they rely heavily upon animal proteins for their choices. BBQ, Fish , Burger Joints, Home Cookin' restaurants all have choices for her, but we tend to frequent places that we know have choices that are not just deep fried cheese, or veggies.

I am a flexitarian (a semi- or part time vegetarian), meaning that I will not eat meat many nights of the week when we eat together, but I will not avoid it if it is available. Things are just easier that way, we only have to make one meal, and not two...

Next weekend is not possible for us.  Wish I could but we have my 7 year olds First Communion.  She is so excited..  She gets to drink wine.  I told her it is just a sip but she is still excited.

How-doFolks

17,000+ people at the park Sat. We didnt go that day, but we went on Sun. Not very busy till around 1'ish. Had a restless night Sat. night, just hard to sleep when out of town. Woke up Sun. 6:45a , parents got up at 9am. Had breakfast at the park. Parents had a hard time figureing out what shows they wanted to watch, so we parted ways. rode PK - FITH, & the GS. Watched alil' of one of the shows, some gal had 5-6 pots on her head while she danced & stood on some swords. Messed around some of the shops, watched the glass-blower. I went out to take some pics & ran into Terry. Talked with him for about 10 minutes, cool guy, talked to me like he knew me all my life. Had a bowl of strawberries & icecream, rode FM, then i started feeling bad.. Weather was great but i started feeling ache'y & nasal'y. Met up with the parents around 2p to go watch the Russian Comedy Circus but it was all full. So the parents rode Lost River while we slumbered along like a turtle crossing the hi-way. Met up with them on the square for the final show of the day, bought apple butter - coffee mug - hoodie, & a hat on the way out.

It was a great trip with my parents. They are almost 70 & dont go to City much anymore, i am glad i got to be part of what might be our alls last trip together. I have great pics of all of us having fun. Give me afew days to edit my video & i'll put it up. Even though i started feeling bad & had a restless night, i did realize something.... As you get older, the excitement of the thrill rides gets replaced by the pleasure of having a good time & satisfying your inner soul. Becuase there is no beauty like nature & watching others have a good time.

Oh yeah!! We gave my mom some flowers & a card on Sun. morning when she woke up. Made her Mothers Day just right. I really enjoy SDC, theres just somethin' about it.. Memories like these put a lump in ya'r throat & makes ya'r eyes all watery.... ::)

I could not have put it into words any better How-dofolks.  When I was at the park in my teen's, 20's, and even 30's...it was all about the rides.  But as the years go bye it is the beauty of the park, shows, and watching others have fun that keeps me satisfied.
