You hope they are parking at Stop 7 when you stay at Deer Run so you can return to Deer Run whenever you want  ;)

...Next we lined up for Dickens' Christmas Carol for the 3:15 showing.  Waiting wasn't too bad, plus we ran into one of our Professors! Dear Hubby had never seen the show, and I hadn't in years.  It did not disappoint. I'm sad to find out next year will be the last season for it....

Just wanted to let you know...rumors of the death of DCC are greatly exaggerated.  Dickens' Christmas Carol will continue to be produced for the foreseeable future.

Made a sudden and unexpected trip to Branson Friday 12/23/11 and stayed over until 12/24/11. Did the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead Trail of Lights, and I can highly reccomend it to all! Did some shopping at Tanger Mall and Grand Village. Many 50 to 70 percent off sales on merchandise, especially Christmas related stuff. Crowds light to moderate throughout the area. SDC closed 12/24 and 12/25. Seems as if most folks have had their vacation, done their shopping, and headed home for the holidays. A few Trail of Lights photos at the Flickr site:

Merry Christmas to all!

I am thankful for all that posted pictures this year.  This year has been tough and I was not able to make it to SDC at all this year.  I am going to get season passes for next year and take my girls and grandbabies!!!

I had never gotten a season pass before this year. I wound up going to the park 4 times. It was not as much as I wanted to go. However, I did get the 2012 season pass, and intend to go out of my way to go at least once each festival if possible. Worldfest...BBQ/Bluegrass...summertime...gospel...
fall festival...and Christmas again. We shall see what happens. I've got mugs to take with me for discounts on drinks. It is worth it to get the season pass if you can go several times in  a year.
