According to our superintendent, the following is state law in Missouri:

A school day is a minimum of three instructional hours....one six hour day canNOT count as two days....bottom line is, you must make up a maximum of 10 school days that you missed.  You make up the following days missed....

Make up days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,

day 8 is forgiven,

make up 9,

10 is forgiven,

make up 11,

12 is forgiven,

make up 13,

days 14 and beyond are forgiven.

We're out again, of course.  It seems like every year we have several days in a row.  The ice storm two years ago was pretty bad.  But this snow storm is "historic."  Who knows when we'll go back.  Maybe things will change over the weekend, but I drove down Rangeline last night, and it still had quite a bit of snow on the road.  I was surprised that it still was in that condition two days after the storm.  I'm not being critical of road crews; it's just that I was surprised.

We are starting to get "cabin fever" in NW Arkansas. More snow to fall today, and a mix on Monday/Tuesday. For the schools, no spring break...it will be make up time, and there will be make up time at the end of the year, too. Oh my!
"Howdy there folks! My name is Junior Dugan, and I'll be drivin' your diving bell!"

unfortunately, porbably true.  It will be interesting to see how your different schools make up the lost days..  I do feel for you all on that account..

well maybe except for rube and history..  they have been laying it on pretty thick about the 2k club!!

Lol,  just kidding you all..  leave the windows open so we can smell the fresh baked goods.....

Started snowing pretty good here in the Little Rock area around 9 this morning. Most schools around our area went ahead and closed today, due to the fact that the weatherman said it would get worse as the day progresses.
You have a great past just ahead of you.

It's snowing again!  I must say that is is absolutely beautiful!  There's a magnolia tree in the neighbor's back yard that is already heavy with snow.  From a distance, it passes as an evergreen.  Add the falling snow and the cardinal that flies by occasionally, and it looks like a post card.  Just beautiful!

^^we went ahead n went to school this mornin but let out at 900...the other schools around us had already called school off before they even got there...im glad we got a day off, but sad that we will have to make them up

the snow is just beautiful!!!!!!

We missed a half day on Wednesday - I'll be ticked if we have to go a full day to make it up.

As of right now, our last day is now May 24th, but the winter is far from being over.

Yes, winter is far from over.  Just look at the forecast for next week.  I haven't been in class since Tuesday.  Unless major work is done this weekend, I don't know how we can go Monday.  We added a couple of inches of snow today, and we have the possibility of wintry weather Sunday and Tuesday.

...and again in the middle of the week.

But the groundhog did not see his shadow, so only a couple of weeks and we're done.

ok history, thanks, wondered when this would be over.. ;D

StaceySue

Well, my school called off for Monday.  I don't even know what number I'm on...7?

Swoosh

We *might* get a whole week in this week.  We'll just have to wait and see, but there is no snow in the forecast.

we are all clear here...  back to normal whatever that is..  calling for possible snow tuesday/wed.
