Out again tomorrow.  Snow Day #4 for us total.
I'll be surprised if we go on Friday.  Some schools have already called off the rest of the week.  Town is starting to slowly come back to life but the rural roads are a mess still and will be for quite awhile.  Even if we have school Friday half of the kids won't be able to make it in and I sure wouldn't want the buses out on those roads.  The only reason why they are in as good as shape as they are is because farmers have their tractors out working on them -- sure isn't because of MoDOT

oklaSDCfan-I live between Drumright and Cushing but I teach at the Tech Center in Drumright.  My son goes to Cushing HS though.  Small world!

No school again tomorrow. That makes 8 days. Let me know how SDC looks in the summer, I won't get there the way things are going.

I know you have plenty of pics for reference!

Well 4 school districts around here have already called off for tomorrow.  The main roads are getting much better but the rural roads are still terrible - but they are finally getting bladed some.  If it was me (and again I think too logically) I'd call off and let them have through the weekend to get everything sorted out and then pick up the pieces on Monday.  However, I won't be too surprised if we go in tomorrow - which will be a NUT HOUSE if we do.

Just got the call.  Snow Day again tomorrow.  WOW.  4 Snow Days in a row has to be a record for my district.  The main roads are looking pretty good but we still have a lot of kids in the rural areas snowed in.  Probably the best thing the district can do is to allow 3 more days to get things back to normal and then start new on Monday.

The more snow days, the more possibility of having some forgiven.  Hey!  In lieu of a raise, and without Career Ladder, any days off are like a little bonus.

Luckily our district does an "in house" career-ladder.  Granted it is not to the level that the state program was, but it is also a lot less paperwork.  Every little bit helps.

We're at #5 now on the Snow Days.  Amazing that in one week we go from only one to five.
The worst part is that this winter is far from over.

how long has it been since you had 4 or 5 days in a row off because of snow??  swoosh? rube? history?

The Great Ice Storm of a couple of years ago.  Power was out for a long time.  We had to turn off the water and stay with friends and finally left town for a while.  It seems like we had 10 snow days that year, five of which were forgiven.  At least that's how I remember it.  We still have tree limbs hanging in the canopy.

MSU was closed Tues, Wedns, and today. It opens again tomorrow, but now we've got an extra 2-4" in the forecast for Sunday into Monday!

well it looks like the schools in my area are back to school tomorrow..

rubedugans

We are back in tomorrow. I was at our board meeting tonight, and they have extended our school year to June 2, and took away 1 proffesional development day in March, and a spring break day in April.

our district regulations apparently say you have to make up 10 snow days, anything over that is forgiven...2 away right now!

Swoosh

I cannot ever remember having 4 days off in-a-row even when I was in high school.
We, in all honesty, could probably have gone back tomorrow, but a lot of our rural kids are still snowed in and I think that's why we are not.

We could have gone "hard surfaces only" like a few schools are, but then again most of our routes are NOT "hard surface" so it wouldn't have done us any good.  lol
