Did they find a place with the original? I mean the scoop it up, little flecks of zest stuff.
We normally fill our mugs (all 4 of them) a least a couple times with frozen lemonade. This year I have filled one mug, one time and won't do it again. The stuff was terrible.
I have the same issue - love the original frozen lemonade but can't stand the Minute Maid stuff. If it doesn't have the lemon peel zests I won't drink it.

There is at least one original stand still left, it is the one near the Saloon. I believe that the Grand Exposition stand still has the original stuff too but am not sure.
The day that all of the stands bear the Minute Maid sign will be a dark day in these Ozarks hills.

White Water Discussion / Re: WW 2012 Info

My wife and I went to White Water on Sunday. With the weather and it being opening/Memorial Day weekend I thought it would be more busy than it was. The parking lot was only about half-full and only Ohana Falls had a very long line while we were there.
What concerned me is that it didn't seem the park was prepared for even this crowd level. There weren't enough inflatables out for the rides and people were having to wait in line at the end to get them from those exiting the ride. There was a relatively short line to enter but on some of them there was a longer wait to get the rafts.
This was our first trip to White Water in several years as we have been living out of state and preferred to spend our limited time back here in Silver Dollar City. However, we still liked White Water and it concerns me that it seems to have become an afterthought. There is some nice new theming since we were last here but the only major "addition" is the new lazy river which isn't much different from the old one.
I recognize that White Water has less capacity and a shorter operating period so it doesn't make as much sense to invest in it but I also think it is falling behind the competition. Does anyone have any ideas or wild speculations as to the plans for White Waters' future?

The Kansas Speedway has been open since 2001. It also has a seating capacity of 82,000 (versus 65,000 proposed for BSEC), a 1.5 mile track (versus 3/4 mile), a substantially larger investment, and a significantly larger population base within its immediate radius.
The best comparison in terms of size and track-type is the Gateway International Raceway. Even though it also had relative advantages in terms of surrounding population and investment dollars, the best it was able to attract in 40 years of operation was a Nationwide race and it closed last year.
My opinion is that the negatives of the track could be tolerated if it would deliver significant economic results but all the available evidence suggests it could not attract the races needed for viability and there is significant reason to doubt whether it would even be built as proposed considering the developer's track record (the Tanstone scar off of Forsyth Road serving as visual evidence).

As someone who is not a racing fan but has family members who are, I can attest to the fact that people will travel long distances for a Nascar race.
However, they will only do so for Sprint Cup races and typically for storied tracks.
A Branson race track obviously can't compete on the latter grounds initially and all available evidence suggests that the best it could attain is a Nationwide series race. Even that seems highly unlikely.

Here's a link to a story in today's Springfield News-Leader about the proposed raceway:

I think it would be a good addition to the area, but I'd be skeptical about it being built until they actually break ground.
