I realize it's been a while since this topic has been discussed, but I remember this feature. It had to come down in the early to mid '90s (otherwise, I'd have no memory of it). I have a photo of the waterfall (see below), but you'll have to excuse how nerdy I look.

I always got terrible rope burns and splinters from the old Tom Sawyer's Landing climbing structures. Best fun I ever had getting hurt!

The thing to remember about SDC food is that it will always cost more the next year. By that standard, don't hesitate to buy a refillable mug. I still have mine from 1997/98, and SDC food vendors still honor the $1 refill cost. (I thought I was a big spender at the time, buying it for $6!)
I also use the Mine or Mill restaurants near the front because of the buffet (which includes dessert). It's pricier than a single sandwich or hot dog, but if you plan accordingly, you can eat midday and not be too hungry by the time you get home.
