We are here now. Our first day in SDC is over. We had so much fun! The kids enjoyed PowderKeg. I'm amazed at how low the crowds were today. There was never a wait for rides. Tomorrow is our 2nd and last day. I hope to slow down and enjoy some of the shops and other things. Everything is so beautiful. We are officially hooked. Thankfully it was a short 3.5 hour drive and we have season passes. I'm especially excited to visit this Christmas. I'm sure the atmosphere and decorations are special in December.

I have enjoyed reading this thread!  It brought back so many memories of visiting SDC as a child!  We lived in Berryville, my Daddy worked at The Passion Play, and I loved living there.  Now that my family has moved to central Arkansas, we became season passholders to SDC.  Our first visit is this weekend!  But it has made me smile to read these posts.  Thanks for sharing all your favorite things about the city!  I can't wait to leave on Wednesday.  We'll be in the city on Thurs and Fri.  Lots of fun is coming our way.  :)

We are so excited.  I lived in Berryville, AR as a child, so we visited SDC often.  But, my family recently relocated to central Arkansas from South Alabama.  My children have never visited SDC.  We purchased season passes and our first trip is this weekend.  We are so excited! The kids are going to miss school this Thursday and Friday. (I've never been opposed to letting them miss a little school for a family get-a-way). We are staying 2 nights in Branson with 2 days to enjoy SDC.  I can't wait!  :)

Thanks for all your help!  I think we are going with the season passes.  If I purchase those tonight, do I have to wait until they come in the mail to use them at SCD?  We are hoping to go in the next 2-3 weeks...so I need to find out if we will get the passes before the trip.

We don't mind walking in the parking lot...so saving that money is probably what we'll do.  We are also Disney fanatics and make 1-2 trips to Orlando per year...so we are used to the walking. I am so excited about visiting SDC again.  Absolutely cannot wait to take the kids soon.   :)

Hello!  My family and I just moved to Central Arkansas.  As a child, I lived in Berryvilla, AR and my family visited SDC often.  I absolutely loved visiting and can't wait to take my children, ages 11 and 9.  My husband and I are going to purchase season passes tonight when he gets home from work.  If you have time, would you mind answering a few questions for me?

1)Are season passes worth it, and should we purchase the water park season passes, also?
2)Is it worth it to buy the parking pass?  I can't remember the layout of parking...but it seems like a small price to pay for a preferred parking spot.
3) I saw an offer for a pass to get to rides quicker, similar to Fastpass system at Disney World.  Is this worth the money?

Thanks for your help and I look forward to getting to know all of you.
