Crossroads Pizza?
OK I will guess since its been a while. Is it at Marys Springhouse?
I took a picture of that, and sent it to my Mom, Cathy, long ago. Since I'm an employee... ;)
I'll guess Sullivan's Mill, but I don't remember seeing it in there.

Molly's Mill?

Hmm. You would think one of these would be right...but they ain't.
Delilah's Bakery
I dunno, Jack's Sandwich Shop? tinmann's little wink at the word "employee" makes me think this is near somewhere that employees frequent, and I seem to recall (but not sure how accurate it is) there being an employee-only area near Jack's.
My point was I won't state location because of my status...and I've spent 3 years documenting signs ;D

I must point out that, with the date of 1924, this is one of those items that fits within the park, but is future to the theme.
Red Gold Heritage Hall? A wild guess since I don't spend much time in that part of the park.

Dang! I almost said Fire In the Hole, but the background looks purple, and I thought it must be wallpaper.
The sign is a framed pic. I didn't even realize I saw it till I was almost past it. I've never paid attention to the stuff in the hallway before yesterday. Kind of freaky.

We're giving this one to DollarCityBoy, with ithai at a narrow second. This picture was taken from the Red Gold side facing the Waterboggan tower, with the shed just to the right of the tower. So now there is a possibly-unprecedented super-tie for first place.

That's true, DCB, but since it was the back of the Boatworks building, I was just looking for the toy shop and I gave it to him. If he wants to give you half of his point, I'll let him, but the point belongs to mhg now, so I'll leave it up to him. He'll keep his resounding lead either way.
That brings up another point though, but I'll put it in the 2015 thread.

On the way to AP?
Between the dockside theater and the stream area
I'm guessing Lumbercamp as well. The building in the background sure looks like it, but then the building in the right corner throws it off. Haven't paid attention to that area much this year, but I don't remember a condiments stand over there.
My only other guesse would be Valley Road food cout area
CHANGE MY VOTE
Its the side deck of the toy shop there in the distance and is along side the catfish place near the LROTO. That picture was probably taken from the line area of the ride looking towards the toy store. That looks like the deck around it.
You wisely changed your vote, mhg. The picture was specifically taken from the entrance to the LR queue, where there are some benches to sit upon as you laugh at what some people choose to wear (or not wear) in public.

Cowboy Jepp's I think is the name now?
This one is a tough one!
I know exactly the location you describe, Swoosh, but that's not it, though we admire your conviction.
Now back to the game...
Then is it the store that used to be Becca's? The new quilt store? or that store that is across from Lost River behind Dockside Theater?
Closer. You are correct in identifying this as a store. You might notice there is an empty display rack in the picture. I wonder what kind of products could hang from that rack...
Hillcreek Pottery?
Wild guess. The toy store.
OK, this one's making me tired. We'll call ithai's "wild guess" good enough. That is to say, it's not wrong. This is actually the back of the toy store, which by the way is riddled with old display racks and would be cleaned up if I ruled the world. You don't get the light pattern that is present on a sphere on a flat surface.
...And here's a little known fact:
This rare sphere of marble is actually hollow. Most spheres such as this one, when cracked open, have yielded treasures of creamy milk. Depending upon the regions in which they are found, others are filled with tobacco, baby powder, and a strange substance similar to Silly Putty.
Tony Orlando discovered this particular marble sphere while camping and fishing near Hannibal, Missouri. Returning with a secretive excavation crew, he carefully extracted the sphere from a rock outcropping just out of sight of the river. Orlando financed a study to to scans of the sphere in attempt to discern the contents of the hollow structure. When it was found to contain a combination of chicken feathers and hillbilly whiskers, it was decided no one should open it. Besides, what better place for a hollow sphere filled with chicken feathers and hillbilly whiskers than the Ozarks.
The integrity of the sphere is kept in check by a gentle stream of water - enhanced with microscopic amounts of preservation chemicals. Visitors to Silver Dollar City often rub their hands against the sphere in an attempt to find flaws in the structure. There is a hardly-believable legend that the ancient contents will transform to pure silver upon contact with the air. As no other sphere with feathers and whiskers has ever been discovered, there is no way to dispute their claim without destroying this rare find.

It is interesting that that is the only ADA elevator lift in the park. I was thinking of how many WOF has and it is basically every coaster and a lot of their rides. SDC stations are basically on the "ground level" and do not require a lift.

Yeah, they just enter at the exit. IDK if it was located at the Wave Carousel or not

Frisco Barn?
I believe this is the new snack area across from Crossroads Pizza
Specifically the Coke dispensary near river blast that has the large barrel of coke up on the roof.
I'm gonna guess toy store
Pintrader has the correct location, across from Crossroads Pizza.

Yes but mhguy had the exact location not a general one and therefore should receive the point.
There are two snack areas (and a store) across from Crossroads - which one did he mean?
Yup! I went back and read it. I agree with Swoosh.
The points don't matter, and I have plenty of them to administer, but I'm not looking for a description of the building - just a location. For the previous round, the answer of the fence at Wilson's Farm cold have been anywhere within the farm area. For this one, I deemed the location was specific enough, since it did not mention an entire area, but a single feature.
...But like I say, I have plenty of them to administer, so if I need to give mhguy77 a point, too, then I will. Not a problem.

In Silver Dollar City :P
The Giant Barn Swing.
This is on top of the new game place beween Crossroads Pizza and just before entering Wilson's Farm and across from the new bathroom area put in last year.
I've got to get better at catching these quicker. PinTrader took my answer. It is on top of the building just to what I think would be north of where they used to do the balloon toss (the building with the shooting gallery games on the way to the Giant Swing) I think. Don't know if they still have the balloon toss or not.
Don't get silly Swoosh, just because you don't like my explanation. The answer to Where in the City? cannot be "Silver Dollar City". :'(
Now, you guys are just trying to make it difficult for our judges. I need your help on this one: Pintrader identified this photo as being the "new game place" on the path to Wilson's Farm. Is it? Which is the new game - the pig game or the chicken game? If the new game is the chicken game, then Pintrader has identified the wrong game on the path, and jbb will take the point. If the new game is the pig racing, the Pintrader gets the point. I guess I can't picture which is newer since I don't pay that much attention to the games.
By the way, the picture was taken through the trees from the FitH queue.
I think I can answer that! It use to be on the old pig game. I was thinking they did away with that and made the new game which was the chicken game. If both games still exist then joshblakebran should receive the point. That is if his location was correct :)
Someone also asked which snack area was I talking about. Yes! there are two snack areas across from Crossroads Pizza. I said the new snack area because the other one has been there for quite a bit longer. I thought that was good enough for the location. But I can see the confusion.
Your game, your rules HB. Do what you want.
Thanks for understanding, Pt.
I suppose we don't have to award points at all - it's just a game anyway - but it's fun to keep track.
And congratulations to jbb!

All of you were wrong! The chicken scramble was the balloon toss, now dumpster site for Crossroads. The pig races became the horse races last year! ::)
Oh brother! Aren't there two games along the path? One new this year?
Moving right along...
Actually not right now -- the new game is shuttered and the "inners" are in the Frisco Barn for the Summer Festival
Well good grief! >:( Keep your eyes open, and don't look back!

I feel like it is in that area behind Grandfather's Mansion that leads to off stage offices
This is on the left side of the Riverfront Playhouse. Facing the little man made creek.
Playhouse it is, though no plays play there more. Bring 'em back, SDC! :'(

Go for it, Swoosh!

BTW, it was the first thing you said.
I guess I need to pay more attention in that area. I spend so little time there.
I've been out of town and am just checking this. Thanks for the point. Thanks to Pintrader for suggesting that I get it. It's like my 2nd point ever. Headed to Branson tomorrow. Very excited to get back to the city.

Toy store, perhaps display window.
WOW! Not the slightest clue! Had to blow it up to figure out what it was. I'd guess wood carvers, but it doesn't really fit.
Frisco Barn temporary kiddie store?
Model for the proposed Misty Forest Float that will replace the current American Plunge?

Very cool. It took me quite a while to even see that the orange thing was a dinosaur!
Easy! JJ Fiddlestick's. Its back in the area with a bunch of those dinosaur and animal figures.

Ice Cream Shop
Steam-powered ice cream...interesting.
Duplicating lathe on Hill Street
The side of Riverfront Playhouse where all the most random things seem to be.
Duplicating Lathe?
We can do better than this, folks. Pintrader may steal this one from you.
by the old fire engine?
Or the train depot?
Outlaw Run?
Furniture shop?
When you get to 567 wrong guesses, I will reveal the true answer.
This looks like a relatively new sign, so I'm going to guess...barn swings?
Leather Shop?
Basket Weaver?
River Blast?
Ah, Gill! I was prepared to give more clues. I started with 567 (Did you google it?), as in 567 feet long. Most people were way off target. They really were just wildly shooting into the reeds. As you finally did select the correct answer, you are hereby rewarded the point.

Ths is next to Crossroads Pizza!
On the stump cut at an angle right across from the new bathrooms on the path to OR and the swing.
Up by the taffy shop.
Welcome Back, Pintrader and Nice Snipe
Well thanks! I was lucky to recognize the windows in the building. I can't stay gone too long or I will be passed up :)
lol Not too sure about that Pintrader! The only other person really in the running for the top spot is Swoosh. I'll get a point someday! haha :D
and now that I'm back at school I will probably be MIA in this contest (especially at the random times that the photos get posted)
Excuses excuses, Swoosh! ::) Truth is, school's going to keep me down, too. Pity us, people! :'(

Mississippi water fountain... You know the water runs backwards from what it use to? Right by the corkscrew.
It's the earthquake water fountain, but Hollywood has the correct location.
I've always thought of it as the best place to fill up my thermal cups. Seems to me to be the coldest water fountain in the park. I love the talking bucket next to it as well!

The corkscrew walkway that is over the RR tracks. Kind of leads from midtown down to where the old kiddie coaster was located. As for the location of the photo I would have actually got this one, but to late to the party ;D

Sure has been quiet around these parts. Too quiet if you ask me. :)
You're right about that. School started and those of us who teach for the government (Read: public school) are under more stress than a human can physically or mentally endure. I'll try to get something going for you.
I cannot believe we are already 13 days into the new school year.
I feel like I have been in a full out sprint since the first day of school. I come home and completely collapse. So. Not. In. Teaching Shape. Yet.
This marks my second year out of teaching, and what I've noticed the most is that school jargon (teacher talk) has already changed since I left; meaning the titles of programs, acronyms, new teacher requirements (common core was being put into effect when I left). I still have teacher friends call to ask me questions sometimes, and I have to tell them that I don't know what they're talking about!
Get it when your life get back into a rhythm. I don't teach but do tech support at a university. My life has felt turned upside down for too long now. I'm only now getting back to the city this next weekend. Its been since memorial day weekend since I last went.
Just a heads up that they are expecting 20,000+ this weekend. They are only open Saturday and Sunday. Apparently big corporate weekend.
Thanks for the tip.
Is there any way we can start this game again lol
Would be fun
I can head it up this year. Give a couple weeks and I'll post a couple a week
Thanks swoosh

That would be great, Swoosh. I'm sure you'll keep it challenging.
Looking forward to it!
It's in process, Ozark Woodcarver, in the Where in the City (2016 Edition) thread.
Found it and just made a guess - thanks!!
That was a timely guess for you, my friend.
Yes sir - and you did mention being specific! 8)
