« on: June 26, 2018, 07:39:47 PM »
Just happened to catch Coaster Quest Sunday June 24th on the Travel Channel. Episode included Holiday World and SDC. The SDC segment was filmed in 2017 and included rides on Powder Keg, Wildfire, and Outlaw Run plus food from Tater Twists and the Funnel Cake stand. It was followed by another Coaster Quest episode about Orlando.

Haven't found a repeat of the SDC episode yet on the Travel channel but Coaster Quest is supposed to be a series.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Changes noticed this weekend 6/8/18
« on: June 09, 2018, 09:33:35 PM »
Went to the City late afternoon Friday 6/8 and noticed some changes since we were at Bluegrass and BBQ in mid-May. Much of the old fence in the tram area is gone and has been replaced by concrete planters attached to one another by 2 wooden rails between each planter. The old wood fence was still up in the area where people load for tram stops 5 and 6.

Also noticed that new shakes are being installed on the building roofs in the entrance area.

« on: December 25, 2017, 07:05:18 PM »
I seem to get slammed when I mention the surveys I get but I did get another one this week about new Christmas shows for the Belle. Looks like they are interested in having "A Christmas Carol", "It's a Wonderful Life" or "Miracle on 34th Street" instead of the current Christmas variety style show.

« on: November 13, 2017, 07:00:08 AM »
USA Today is again running the 10Best voting for Best Theme Park Holiday Event. If you want to vote for SDC, you can go here:

Got a new survey today about SDC which was different from ones I have received in the past. Asked how many times I had been in the past 12 months, wanted to know what I used for my most recent admission (season pass, one day ticket, etc.). Then there were questions about the 3 things I never wanted to change at SDC -- fill in the blank. Then 3 things I would like to see refreshed or replaced -- fill in the blank. Check off up to 10 things that were musts for you at SDC, check off things you could live without. There were other questions where you could really make comments.  Questions covered rides, shows, food, attractions (McHaffie Homestead, Wilderness Church, School, Grandfather's Mansion), areas (Grand Exposition, Half Dollar Holler, Fireman's Landing).
