Well, we have just had a good exhausting trip at SDC for the past two days.  I loved the cooler weather.

There were alot of student groups particularily band and chorus high school and middle school.

You sure couldn't tell they were even there.  Nothing was slowed down at all.

We left everyday at closing and of course we had to have funnel cake.

My daughter tried the spiral cut potatoes.  They did offer a variety of seasonings but she only wished they  were crispier.

I cannot wait until the next trip.  I only wished I lived closer.  We left Branson at 10:30  and pulled in ;my driveway at 5:15.

It is a good kind of exhaustion!!

Those spiral potatoes look good.  We had some of those at our festival here a few weeks ago, but I didn't try them.  I may have to at SDC. ;D

My husband and I had the "twisted taters on a stick" during anniversary weekend, and they were quite tasty.  A variety of seasonings are available to shake on the taters (pepper, parmesan cheese, garlic pepper, seasoned salt, and several others).

Mmm... I guess they should have mentioned that when giving out the samples.

Duelist

My family and I will be there next Saturday and Sunday, May 22nd and 23rd.  Anyone else from SDCFans gonna be there?

We had a trip some-what planned for Apr. 30 - May 3, but Mother Nature took care of that.
We are trying to plan a trip soon, we would like to go when they are open till 10p, but it just dont fit in our schedule right now. Tried last year but got too wore-out, we only made it till 4p. Guess we need to change our set-up. I THINK WE ARE GUNNA TRY AGAIN JUNE 11TH.
Heck, my woman is 50 this year!! ;)

I finally (sadly) get to say I had my first "WORST" visit ever, to the city.  It started with cars backed up 1 mile before the exit off of the High road.  It took 2 hours to get parked, in Branson West, of all places, then the bus ride in.  While waiting in line, the 2nd bus decided to pull to the wrong end, and let people on that where walking up, while those of us that had waited in the sun for 20 min, watched stunned.  The next bus started to do the same, and several guests blocked the bus.  This led to screaming and shouting, even 1 guy pounding on the front window and demanding to let us on.  It was a mess.  They were not prepared for today's crowd.  They closed the park around 4, and when I left at 5, there was already an estimate of 19,000.  They re-opened the park, and were staying open until 9pm, so there's no telling what the final total will be.

If today was a sign of things to come, I will not return until the fall fest... :(

^Well I am glad I opted to go to Adventureland instead of driving down there as I originally planned.  ;D

WOW! After all this nasty-wet weather, i guess everyone decided to head to SDC. We kinda figured that would happen.
Feel for ya tinmann. We stay in Branson West too. What time did ya leave to get there?

Usually I leave at 7:30, but there is normally a "slow period" around 11-1pm, so I left at 11:30, got on park at 2:15, and left at 4:30.  The crowds were so thick, it took 20 min. to get from GG to FITH.  There are no shows going on during the BBQ fest, so the only line was for the saloon, leaving ALL rides backed up past the 2 hour wait, except FITH, which was a 45 min wait.

And wait till you see the Newest eyesore- a row of 2010's Coke machines in front of the Frisco Barn!

That being said, I did have some "happy" moments with the guests:  I dressed up as a sheriff, to see if I could tolerate the heat, before applying, there.  I now know the feeling the street troupe gets when people approach them and ask to take their pic, shake there hand, get directions, etc., it was kind of cool :)

Sorry to hear about the bad trip. I'm with you on waiting until fall fest. I usually go one time between end of bluegrass/BBQ and the start of fall fest but that's it

I've finally got my annual trip planned for August (hey, I'm from Florida...I'm used to "the hot").  In the meantime, I'm celebrating each and every day here at Walt Disney World in my own very special way.  No one has caught on yet.

Thanks Swoosh.   I'm trying to find humor in the irony of a theme park name tag which also includes yet another theme park name.
