At the end of the day this is a TNT replacement, not much more and not much less. Probably longer, better themed and more unique but its a TNT replacement. Think of Mystic River Falls replacing Lost River, it was the first of its kind (tallest fastest etc..) this will be no different.

Sounds like you have some inside information.  I'm not convinced it is a TNT replacement.

All I'm going to say is that a "TNT Replacement" is not a "first of its kind in the States"

Also take a look at that station... awfully wide for just a "TNT Replacement"

Make at that what you will.

Also to the kid that keeps DM/emailing me, no I don't know when registration will open for Fan Fest.

Um...well this certainly changes the prediction market.

Pretty confident that this will be a unique, non-inverting Stryker model. The density of the footers in that valley below Wildfire's drop makes me think that there will be some powerful forces at play in certain moments of the layout. It will certainly be more intense than Thunderation, but in no way as thrilling as Time Traveler. I'd even be surprised if it featured airtime stronger than a few brief moments of exactly zero Gs.

I am actually surprised that this debate is still going on? I thought it was established once we saw the numerous overbuilt footers that this was not likely to be a TNT replacement anymore? SDC labels all of their big projects as "family thrill" attractions which is their clever way to word things for marketing purposes to keep their demographic happy. This includes Time Traveler's marketing because I know a few folks were balking at the idea of an inverting spinning coaster when the rumors first started, which is why they emphasized the "family friendly controlled spin".

While 2027 is established as another Mack creation, the giant footers and layout is clearly bigger than Time Traveler's so some significant height and force will be applied here. As it looks now it will have a footprint slightly bigger than Powderkeg's (the current largest coaster in the park by length and acreage) and it may likely be as tall as Wildfire. My guess at this point is it's a Stryker model but with a Hyperia-like layout with an overbanked near inversion or two. That big turnaround next to Wildfire may be part of the first drop as it's built very similar to Mack's other Hyper/Mega coasters. Lastly, Hypercoasters aren't merely classified by being a big out-n-back layout with airtime camel hills. It is rated by having a height/drop of at least 200 feet. Not saying it will be 200 feet tall but it could come close. (Wildfires lift hill is 120ft but it's drop is deceptively larger at 155ft thanks to the terrain of the hillside)  If SDC markets this as the Tallest/Fastest coaster/drop in Missouri, all they need to do is build a drop more than 205 feet as that's the specs of Mamba at WOF. This will also come into play when marketing the SDC Resort that's opening next year in time for Coaster Con.

Tormenta down the road at SFOT is built as a Dive Coaster but it also gets to be called a Giga because of its 300+ foot drop.

Larger footers could simply be over-engineering to account for the rough terrain. I know that the park has had some issues with land stability (train tracks, Wildfire). It could also mean that there will be pretty significantly heavy trains on the tracks.

If I were in park leadership, I would not be building an incredibly high thrill attraction. Families are Silver Dollar City's core audience, and they need a coaster that fits between Fire in the Hole and Powderkeg in intensity. That's the kind of thing that will pull people in. Thrill-seekers usually don't bring the cash like families do.

Herschend has been almost completely family-focused for the past few years. I don't see that changing.

Speaking of family coasters, SFFT just announced a record breaking 4,000 foot family launch coaster with a silver mine as part of its backdrop for next year. Coaster war declared with SDC?  https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18h9XAuXRX/
QuoteLaunch into the legend of WerewolfGorge - new in 2027! This record-breaking family rollercoaster sends you hurtling along 4,120 feet of twisted track - including 32 exhilarating airtime moments - as you explore the deserted silver mine where mysterious howls echo from the dark.
While similar in theme with the mining, I think whatever SDC is building will top it as they love doing those record breakers for marketing. This further supports the Stryker coaster theory for SDC. Think Hyperia/Voltron crossed with Mystery Mine.
