Who (or what) was that guy?

Hi...

Hoping this wealth of SDC experts can help me piece together a childhood memory.

We're from the Chicago area and my family took only one summer trip that included SDC--probably about 40 years ago.  I was standing in line for a ride...  (Can't remember which one, though it may have been Fire in the Hole--still a vivid memory after decades.)

Anyway, the line wound around a ticket booth which was "staffed" by a mannequin of some sort...  but, if I recall correctly, there was a face projected on his face and he was talking to people in line.  I was fascinated watching this "movie" of a face until he looked down at me and chided:  "Move it along, sonny." making me realize how far back I was holding up the line watching this show.

Does anyone have any details on this?  Was I waiting for Fire in the Hole?  Any details on the basic mechanism?
Or how many of these details do I have impossibly wrong?

Thanks!

Okiebenz

Sounds like the flooded mine to me.

History Buff

Just a projection on a 3D head in the FM queue.  They replaced it a couple of years ago with a video in a picture frame.  It's just not the same.
