^ that's correct

Also it doesn't "suffer" it actually does quite well with rider numbers.

yeah, but the ride usually has a comparatively short line to the rest of the coasters. Unless the park is packed, it tops out at like 20-30mins. Now, I like the short lines of OR, but I imagine SDC would like to boost its ridership numbers.
And people are thrown off by the "roughness" of the ride. Idk to me the only truly rough part of the ride is the pothole at the bottom of the drop

So with ThuNderaTion leaving what do you think will go in it's spot? Obviously it will have to be another terrain based ride. A water ride may be possible but another coaster might be the more likely option. My shortlist is a terrain GCI that copies the layout and reuses the tunnels. Thunderhead is very popular and highly rated at Dollywood and they have invested a lot into it's maintenance in recent years to keep it running well for years to come. SDC could still use another woodie after being cheated out of one with Ozark Wildcat (RIP) as it would fit the same demographic TNT supported with it's ride height requirement and low temp operation. If not, a custom family invert from Vekoma like Flying Fox would also be a popular choice here.

This isn't happening, but what if a gci that goes in thunderation place is called ozark wildcat? It would be a cool callback to celebration city and fits into SDC's theme.

I wonder why SDC has never done any real acknowledgement of Ozark wildlife. Dollywood does quite a bit.

Now that I think about it, I agree. Why is it nothing more than farm animals and a dog mascot? Why no falcons or other animals???

With daredevil pass it feels like they are locking in to the current park footprint and not leaving much space for future growth. Maybe there will be more space than I think but with MME nestled between AP, Powderkeg, wildfire. It feels like they've blocked that area from going farther into the woods for expansion.

Maybe they will be relocating all the maintenance/back of house stuff that's right outside the fire district and could then use that space and possibly connect to somewhere by outlaw run.

So here's my crazy idea.

In that space add a suspended coaster(bat or owl themed), a trackles shooting ride(stagecoach training), and a couple of flat rides... call it the backwoods.

Right by FITH add an indoor firehouse kitchen restaurant(with cafeteria style order in a line or food court style(3-4)
