The Dulcimer Shop Relocates
« on: July 31, 2014, 01:48:20 PM »
I found this story interesting for some reason. I love the Dulcimer shop at SDC, even though I would never be a customer. It's such a niche Ozark thing and adds to the character and uniqueness of SDC. I wish they had a shop within the actual heart of SDC, just for the experience and ambiance. They could set up a little museum or something in the shop to make it more interesting.

Instead of just a true dulcimer shop - how about an Ozarks instrument shop that includes hand made banjos and the like.  I would love it in Midtown (the new shop) and then have performances at the old Gypsy Wagon with instruments from the shop.  That would add to the atmosphere.

Don't they advertise "Fine Tuneful Banjos right there in Midtown anyway?

I would love this.  Acoustic.  How 'bout a Midtown Coffee Shop?  Sell instruments.  Sell lessons.  Sell coffee.  Sell books.

I would like the shop to be right across from GM in the same row and across the pathway from the Gypsy Wagon stage there near Carrie's Candles.  That would add some life and entertainment to that area of the park

Great idea! It all sounds good...

Somebody type up a proposal and send it to the PTB.

Junior, too!

Let's make it a new bylaw of the 4000 Club to make proposals to PTB....HMMMMMM.....rehabbed treehouse, return of diving bell, a new themed area called Butterfield Road, possibilities are many.

Great idea. Coffee and cinnamon pull apart bread from the mill and a place to sit and enjoy it. Midtown needs something and this could be it.

Well I was just thinking that this would be another option besides the Homestead Pickers for the park.  You set up a nice stage there where the Gypsy Wagon is with a covering and benches.  The older folks would eat that up.  Like someone said, go get some yum from the mill and sit, eat and watch.  Shoot I'm not old and would love to do that.

It could also be a place to hang out before the chains drop at the beginning of the day.
