« on: May 10, 2014, 08:39:54 AM »
Here's a link to an article about SDC that will be in the 5/26 issue of Forbes:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/abrambrown/2014/05/07/the-wild-ride-of-the-herschends-when-amusement-parks-are-the-family-business/2/

Saw this posted on 1branson and thought the folks here would like to read it.

Terry Sanders had a link to it on FB....read it a bit ago.  Good article....learned a few things that I didn't know.

Tremendous article. I actually haven't been following the business side of HFEC until the past couple of years, so the Bilbo connection with CC is new info to me.

Interesting perspective on the motivations and process behind the business. I'm sad as always to hear that the Herschends continue to fade out of SDC operations, but I'm glad they've setup a culture of strong values that will keep the company on the right path for a good long time.

I agree with you on all points made, Shave.  But, I also continue to be saddened as the direction of the park veers further and further away from the original culture of the park.

Still amused at the fact that Celebration City was the "late nite" companion park. If you call the show just after dark in July a late night I guess you can claim that.
