Another reason I didn't like the sparks: The old logo left me and my friends/family wondering if the sun was rising for a new day, or if it was setting getting ready for a new tomorrow. ~I hope you know what I mean, I don't know how else to explain it.~ And it would lead to fun little debates.
My grandma (RIP) started a thing where we would say the sun was rising as we were on our way into the park as in saying "Good Morning!", and then as we were leaving, we would say that the sun is setting as a way of telling us "Goodbye until tomorrow!" For us, 'tomorrow' meant 'next time' because something about SDC always seems like a new day where amazing possibilities are waiting.
The sparks made it seems like somebody was doing really hard work all the time, and for me, SDC is a way of relaxation, a way to help me realize that hard work is important, but so is having fun. If someone keeps thier axe stuck in the log overnight, that means they did really hard work and had finally said its time to call it a day and spend time with family and friends.
I hope I'm making since lol
I didn't sleep well last night and I'm stressed about the 8-10 page psychology paper I'm supposed to be writing.
