Elsie The Milk Cow
« on: May 28, 2011, 06:49:36 PM »
For those of you who have visited the park this year, is Elsie the Milk Cow back yet? My kids loved playing with Elsie and have missed her the last couple of years or however she's been gone. Just curious. Also, what about the ducks that you could race with the water wheels in the same area?

You mean Genesis the cow? Was it renamed Elsie?

The cow tends to show up and leave periodically, I'm sure it keeps breaking and they have to pull it out, fix it, and put it back in multiple times a year. It and the ducks are two more little things that make the park special, but at the same time are constantly in some state of maintainence. When the ducks are set up, they're constantly getting stuck and people spend most of their time just trying to clear the duck jams.

Speaking of cows there's a cow just inside the first "outdoor" scene at Fire in the Hole.  Is that new for this year?  I don't remember seeing a cow before.

When I looked at the website and the map of the park, the cow was named Elsie the Cow. I was just going by what that said. I guess I'm not for sure the name of the cow. I do remember that Genesis was the name of the lady who planned out that area as well as the HDH area and that the cow had be named after her. I'd be interested to know if the cow is there and what it's official name is.

The cow is definitely there but I don't know her name.  I would think she probably comes and goes because of the weather.  A frozen cracked spewing cow might not be very pretty  :).

Sometimes a cow just has to moo-ve!

Okay, that was lame. ;)

The park calls the attraction "Elsie the milkcow" but it's official name (not known to the public though) is Genesis after the project's R&D director.
