72,215 sq. ft. Mansion being built in Highlandville
One of America's 10 largest homes is being built in the Ozarks. Larger than the WHite House, larger than the Hearst Mansion,and also larger than Bill Gates mansion...this "home" will have 2 elevators, 15 bedrooms, a 1,600 ft library 1,300 sq ft master bedroom. I will be self sufficient and sustainable with a nearly zero energy consumptions, on top of being fire, earthquake, and tornado resistant...

Well, so much for the simple life of the Ozarks! :o

But hey, if a person has the money, the means, and the way, then more power to them. They should at least open up one wing of the house as a bed, and breakfast. ;)

even if I had the means to build something that huge I wouldnt. Really, its just not needed. Build a nice house by all means, just dont make a palace out of it. Its just silly!

It does seem outlandish. But a dollar to you, might mean something different than a dollar to someone else. It's their money.  :P

There have been some articles about it in the Springfield News-Leader.  The guy building it owns a company and is trying to use all of his company's products and construction techniques in this one house.
