How long has this been going on... ???   Posted today on FB..

It seems like a brand new thing, considering all the confusion in the comments on facebook.

I am guessin the PTB are tryin to get people in there on thursdays, to help offset the nasty weekends weather we have been havin so far.

This is an extension of what they've been doing in recent years. They've had an increasing number of special low-ticket cost days each year, and now they're making it a weekly thing apparently.

As always, it's interesting... the marketing approach of the park continues to evolve.

Gilligan

If you go in after 3:00 on a $30 ticket, is the next day free?

sanddunerider

@ gilligan.. ??? ??? :o :o ;D ;D

Great question....according to there rules, Yes...

jmc75

Just read on their website that the come after 3 does not apply to the 30 tickets.

Hollwood

You could buy a comeback ticket from the stroller booth and comeback Friday. That would be 2 days for $45

There is a chance for snow flakes tomorrow morning in NWA. If it happens, it will be the first recorded time ever for May. The weather is doing no favors for our SDC. I've axed two trips already. The bright side is that some are saying that this summer will be much tamer compared to the past couple.

Chittlins, pics in a book I own show snow on the ground in Arkansas in May in the '50s.  I can get the bibliographic info if you want it.

Please, cause they were convinced on local news that there are no records of it on the books since they started keeping them in the 1800s. Even said anywhere in Arkansas. The flakes a couple weeks back were the lastest I've seen. I've experienced accumulating snow on Halloween weekend before in NWA.

This says KC has had measurable May snow only once

since you are on the snow/weather topic here....

latest measurable snow in Topeka ks was 1/10 of an inch 5-3-1907......

Also set all time low temp record today..before 49, today 38 degrees (maybe 37)...

They just issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the NWA area

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...
* RAIN WILL MIX WITH OR CHANGE OVER TO SNOW THIS EVENING AND
TONIGHT ACROSS NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS AS AN
UNSEASONABLY COLD UPPER LOW DEEPENS OVER THE AREA. THIS SHOULD
ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO COOL OFF ENOUGH THROUGH THE EVENING FOR
SNOW TO DEVELOP WITHIN HEAVIER BANDS OF PRECIPITATION.

* LOCAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE TONIGHT.
MOST IF NOT ALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE CONFINED TO GRASSY AND
ELEVATED SURFACES. IT IS ALSO LIKELY THAT ACCUMULATIONS WILL
VARY CONSIDERABLY OVER RELATIVELY SHORT DISTANCES.

IMPACTS...

It has taken me this long to find the book and the page, but here is the pic:  Note the caption and the date.
