Hearing rumors it was originally from a mine on the southeast part of the state... but I have been unable to (so far) find documents proving that.
That's epic. Thanks for the confirmation

I love the authenticity of that's true.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Project 2027 Tracker
Last post by legoerosion - June 17, 2026, 07:21:18 AMI hope that it is indeed a mine hoist, that would be an awesome thing to walk up to and see, especially if the coaster interacts with it in some way.
I could however also see this as a frame for some kind of rockwork, I know there were a few rumors about some tunnels

Last post by sdcfan88 - June 15, 2026, 06:29:45 PMGot some video of the construction site I'll try editing tonight if I am not too tired. They were actively working on the tower and doing something down in the valley in front of PK again. I am wondering if footers will still spring up there or not.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2026 Trip Reports
Last post by sdcfan88 - June 15, 2026, 05:27:48 PMQuote from: biscuitcreek on June 13, 2026, 09:41:36 AMWe handed him our Wildfire mug, and he told us it would be $4 for a refill. We told him it was less than that because of the date of the mug. He then told us this was his second day in MO, and his first day on the job. We asked him to look it up in the book. He flipped through a few pages and then told us that mugs before 2012 were no longer eligible for lower refill prices. By this time the line behind us was really getting long, so we asked for the mug back and we left. We got it refilled for 2.50 at the lemonade stand near Time Traveler. To be fair our mug no longer has a visible price on it. This experience made us wonder about new employee training.
Currently up here today. Same thing happened with my 2005 PowderKeg mug with a young girl at Cokes and Floats. Wanted $4 for a refill. Politely told the person it's a grandfathered mug and it has an adjusted price based on the date and pricing printed on the cup. (Mine was visible asking $2.50) Said person says they never seen it before and they were apparently told nothing about Grandfathered mugs, they did fix it tho. Checked several other stalls and they were equally clueless about it. So they are omitting it from new hire training it appears.

Last post by shavethewhales - June 15, 2026, 09:49:11 AMThe amount of footers at the top of the hill is insane. I would think this thing would launch upwards through the mine shaft tower, then go backwards down the hill and swoop back around to launch up past PK. Doesn't look like the footers go through the structure though, looks like it curves around it? I guess we'll see.

I think my favorite thing so far is that with the queue, grass and foliage is already growing back. I'm really hoping that continues with the other areas of construction, because that area looks fantastic. I'm excited to see what the new structure ends up being as well
