Construction/Rumors / Re: Project 2027 Tracker
Last post by sdcfan88 - February 16, 2026, 09:15:05 PMSomethings afoot. Apparently employees that worked it were blindsided today. What the heck is really going on? This is in line with what was told to ACE attendees last Christmas that "it wasn't going anywhere".
EDIT: Only thing I can figure is they intended to keep it but this closure was part of some kind of out of court settlement over the worker that got killed a while back.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Project 2027 Tracker
Last post by Okiebenz - February 16, 2026, 07:09:49 PMI really don't know why instead of getting rid of it they don't just retrack it. Seems like that would be cheaper, at least from my non-expert opinion. It would be nice if they would add additional rides to suck up the crowds instead of everything simply being a replacement of an existing classic.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Thunderation Test Seat
Last post by Dfisher - February 16, 2026, 06:33:07 PMHello everybody, new here and pretty much new to the park. I know thunderation is pretty fat friendly but does it have a test seat? I can't find any videos of the seat online

Last post by legoerosion - February 16, 2026, 05:03:54 PMThis one hurt a little bit more than OG FitH, but such is progress. It's not enjoyable anymore, and I usually don't have an issue with rough rides but I can only do one ride of TNT.
The amount of people that legitimately think that mining will resume in the cave is crazy, I've seen so many comments about it on Facebook.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Project 2027 Tracker
Last post by chittlins - February 16, 2026, 03:07:23 PMConfession, I haven't stepped foot in SDC the last two seasons even withbit being less than 2hrs from me. This will get me back one more time. The park overall has been on a slow slide to meh for me. But, I have been to theme parks on three continents. Disney Sea and Tokyo Disneyland this fall is booked.
The most unique thing about Thunderation was the gravity fed trip to the spiral. From the lift hill to the station has always been a letdown. The original artwork even showed a wooden tunnel that never happened.
SDC has had opportunities to nail it. The new Fire in the Hole needed that drop track element at the burning bridge. Didn't happen. The new raft ride is meh. Time Traveler missed an opportunity at the second launch for a show building. Lots 80% effort, not 100% effort.

Last post by jericho - February 16, 2026, 01:05:50 PMQuote from: ColaSDC on February 16, 2026, 11:07:02 AMNow I'm wondering why Brad lied(or the decision was forced by corporate)
Anyways, I think it's a pretty bad decision on SDC's part. If project 2027 is a Mack hyper like rumored, the park will lack a true family coaster- something for 8 year olds to get used to thrill rides. The jump between FITH and powder keg is pretty big. Whatever replaces TnT won't be here until '29-'30 at the earliest. If they had to close it, they should have pushed it until after project 2027 opens.
Maybe Brad didn't technically lie. Maybe the new ride will be a "new" Thunderation. Thus TNT will be there in 2027.

Last post by SharkWatch - February 16, 2026, 12:59:49 PMVery sorry to hear that TNT is going away. I will miss it for the reasons stated above, but also because TNT allows riders that cannot physically fit into Outlaw Run, Wildfire, and Powderkeg. While I believe that FITH can accommodate them, that's not the same as an outdoor coaster.

Last post by sdcfan88 - February 16, 2026, 12:09:14 PMQuote from: tmstephe on February 16, 2026, 11:56:56 AMI recognize the mining story is just their creative marketing campaign; do we have any ideas on what this means for the 2027 addition (mine themed ride, I assume) and/or the plot of land that TNT currently occupies? While we're at it, any rumors on what is/will happen with the old FITH building? It feels like lots of real estate is opening up, in addition to the 1200 acres between the park and the resort.
If they haven't already you can pretty much count on the old FITH building getting razed next along with Flooded Mine and the old Train Station. The new Train Station will probably go where the old FITH building is. What they say isn't happening is actually a confession of what is.
