« on: March 04, 2011, 07:11:52 PM »It shouldn't take long to get the carousel installed. I'm sure it's not much more than sticking tab A into slot B. Most of it will be prefab.
Who isn't pleased that they've renamed it Hugo and Mary's Carousel? Is there an old H & M carousel story to go along with it? Did Hugo purchase the ride with Mary in mind? Did they like to ride the carousel after hours in a romantic moment? Why the carousel and not some other feature of the park?
I was wondering that myself. I think it's great that they re-named it Hugo & Mary's; for whatever reason it's a good one & very sentimental.

Well I am a huge Mr. Pibb fan. We typically can't get it in Central Arkansas, so everytime I drink a Mr. Pibb I am reminded of SDC. Its kinda like smelling the hot wet blacktop (I know im not the only one who gets that feeling 
)
Myself, and my family included do typically drink the frozen lemonade while we are in the park though; so the pepsi change wouldn't effect us that much.
I also have realized that Mr. Pibb is now Pibb Xtra, which still tastes pretty much the same, but I do miss the original Mr. Pibb more.
Would I miss the Coke and Mr. Pibb? = YES
Would I still go to SDC even if they switched to Pepsi? = nothing would keep me away!

I like Lady Antebellum; and I use to like their song "Need you now."
However after hearing it play constantly on the radio and at work, I tend to cring everytime I hear the intro to that song!
When I saw that that song won "song of the year" I was not surprised, it truly did deserve that title. When I think back to 2010, thats definatly the song that plays over and over in my head.

The tree bases (or stumps) look VERY good! I am so glad to see that the area does not look "cartoonish" / fake. The paint scheme looks wonderful as well. IMHO, I really like the placement of the Carousel; it will look and sound great as you are coming around that courner. I had said much earlier in this thread (when we were all looking at the orange flags) that I thought there would be something on the other side of the swinging bridge. The swinging bridge will have an entire new feel to it, as we will be walking/swinging over children as they pass to the storytime area.

It's around 3.5 hours for us; depending if we stop for breakfast at Ferguson's Country Store & Restaurant (St. Joe, Arkansas). We make it up there 3-4 times a year, and we have on occassion had day trips!

I'm anxious to see what this "net maze" that she mentioned will actually end up looking like. Obviously, it won't be anything like the nets we all experienced growing up in Tom Sawyers Landing, but maybe it will be lower to the ground and on a much smaller scale?

My family has never eaten at the "special tables" in the Mine or the Mill, however, we know about them. We have though eaten at one of the "special tables" in Mcfarlands (IMAX). We had known about the "special tables" in the Mine and the Mill for years, but did now know about the ones in Mcfarlands; so it came to quite a surprise when we had dinner at one. It was a lot of fun, and we still talk about that visit, years later.
