2006 over here, too.

I never knew there was a diving bell playground. I would love to see old pictures of that. Junior, can you tell me more about it?

So I know that the gate by the Candy Factory is on the list of "Do Not Enter" secret places (and hopefully no one would have to go there during their trip) but unfortunately that is also where First Aid is located so I'm thinking that place is one location that blurs the line.   By the way, couldn't they think of moving that to a different location?  There's a lot of behind the scenes stuff on the other side of that gate.

I went to First Aid when I was a wee one after I got stung by a bee. I was offered a Benedryl but didn't take it because duh! it doesn't fit the theme.

I noticed in Junior's pictures that there is a new "You have a great past ahead of you" sign at the entry way. Sure wish I could have the old one!

Saw this story on twitter: http://www.ky3.com/news/ky3-tourism-officials-hope-big-silver-dollar-city-opening-day-is-good-omen-for-2011-20110317,0,94779.story?track=rss&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter SDC had 8,000 people within the first couple of hours on opening day and I saw on Facebook that attendance got up to about 13,000! I haven't seen anyone comment on the wait for rides. Were the lines long?

Awww shucks!! 1st, the green trams and now the backwards TNT cars! What are they doin' to me?? This ain't good news comin' from down in the Ozarks! I'm not sure what I'm more sad about: Not getting to ride backwards or that the hilarious signs hanging above the backwards seats will no longer be there.

It certainly added an element of thrill and came in handy when my mom, who is deathly afraid of coasters, agreed to ride TNT. She thought it would be better for her nerves if she didn't see what was coming so she rode backwards. I road in the car behind her so we were face to face and took a video of her rather torturous experience. Poor lady. Probably wouldn't have been that bad if she'd ridden forwards. Oh well. Makes for great footage!

I'll be in Eureka Springs today and tomorrow so waft some of those SDC aromas over to me. See you in October, SDC! Wish I could be there today! We are traveling today and are about to stop at Cracker Barrel. Is that easing the pain or adding salt to the wound?

Any thought that involves the reappearance of the balloon ride is a good thought. I like that idea of having it be one of Doc's creations.

I sure hope the bridge doesn't leave anytime soon! It's a significant attraction in the city and it's not about to come tumbling down due to age. If the bridge were to be taken out, they would have done so during the construction of HDH. Don't ya think?

Do you want a knife that has the SDC logo or just a knife from SDC? The knife maker has them and if you go during the Harvest Festival there is a gentleman that makes knives as well. My dad bought one last year - it's a beaut! Also, if you buy a knife in the park, an employee has to escort you to the Hospitality House or you have it sent there for pick up.

This year when I go to SDC I am going to take pictures or videos while walking through the park and shops. A Day in the Life of an SDC-goer. I hope it goes well because I need my SDC fix every once in a while.

I'd love to go during spring break but I can't go to Silver Dollar City unless Carrie's Candles is open. Anyone know why it is never open on opening day? Too many candles to make?
