General Silver Dollar City Talk / Mug Refills

I know there were posts about this recently, but I can't find them.  So, here we are again!  Refills!  Hubs and I took our old mugs good for $1.25 refills and they were not honored.  We were charged $1.65, which is the refill price stated on menus, at 3 different food/drink stands.  I would've said something at the time, but Hubs picked up the drinks and I didn't notice it right away.

Hubs and I took the lake hike over to the Belle and went into the gift shop for our usual Sarsaparilla.  It's gone! They no longer sell it! Sales clerk pointed to the root beer in the cooler and offered me one. It's not the same thing!  Then...I started thinking about the Coke signs all over the City.  Are they no longer selling it because of a contract with Coke?  Anyone see Sarsaparilla at the City?  This could be devastating....

What are your experiences with airports within 3-4 hrs drive from Branson? Sand, aren't you from Kansas City? Chittlins, you fly frequently? Looking for airfare from Branson to San Francisco.  What airport do you suggest? Kansas City, Springfield, Bentonville area? Come on guys - help me out.

You may already know there's a magazine subscription that comes free (?) with your season pass, right?  If you don't want it, you're directed to request a refund of $6 by mailing in the enclosed postcard.  If you ordered multiple passes, did you get a postcard for each pass?  When ordering multiple passes, one set of coupons is enclosed with the packet.  If passes are ordered separately, will I get the coupons with each pass, or is it based on mailing address?  We always use the 25% coupons.  It seems only fair to have multiple coupons if I'm buying multiple passes. What do you think?

I just read on Facebook that Wayne Rice, SDC blacksmith, had a stroke and is in ICU at Mercy Hospital.  The Hubs and I always make time to speak to Wayne. He's an interesting guy and always wears a red shirt.  If you know Wayne, please keep us updated on his progress.  Wayne, get well soon! We love you!

At one time, SDC had a quilt guild that used to show at the National show in Paducah, KY.  I haven't seen them in years. Do you know if they still have any active guilds?  Such as blacksmithing, wood carving, furniture making, etc?

For those of you who have received the latest Times, was there any mention of Black Friday? It usually opens at 8:00 a.m., but I haven't heard anything about it this year.  Is it happening?

Has anyone noticed the missing glass balls where the glass blowers work?  Remember the groups of amber colored glass balls across the top of the area near the ceiling? I noticed them missing as soon as I walked in.  Did they fall?  Are they a hazard?  Hubs thought perhaps OSHA made them remove them.  He noticed lots of new barriers, especially in the loading area in front of the wreath, and the posts were painted caution yellow at the bottom.

Branson Talk / Janet Dailey

I read today that Janet Dailey, the author, died.  KY3 mentioned she lived in Branson, but I thought she lived in Hollister.  I know that if you take a ride on the paddleboat her house is pointed out by the captain on the banks of Taneycomo.
