General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Looking forward to 2016
« on: February 18, 2016, 05:32:12 AM »
We will be there opening weekend as well.  My daughters and myself love to walk around the park and see if we can find everything that has been fixed, changed, updated, added, or removed.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Opening weekend.
« on: February 18, 2016, 05:29:32 AM »
I have been looking at the SDC website.  As everyone knows there are some shops that are not open until April and May but unless they have not updated the section on food then there are very few food vendors and restaurants open opening weekend...  It only lists 2 vendors open on the 12-13th.  I have sent an email to SDC to verify.   I am assuming it is a typo.  Has anyone heard anything?

I am glad they are changing things up a bit.  While I do enjoy going to the show it has been pretty much the same for years.  The new additions sound great.

Branson Talk / Forever Young finds home at Hughes

Well I am sure the cast of forever young can breath a sigh of relief to have a theater home.   I can not wait to see this production.  Several of these guys are either preforming at SDC or have in the past.

Branson Talk / What will happen to Grand Village Shops
« on: January 31, 2016, 05:36:10 AM »
Looks like the Grand Village Shops might get a redo.  The area has been looking a little shabby the last few years but  I really hope that they keep Mels Hard Luck Diner.  Here is the Link.  http://www.bransontrilakesnews.com/news_story/article_374b8110-c6bb-11e5-83b8-cf9defa324dd.html

Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2017 Project(s) and Park Developments

I am looking at the map now. My guess is, if they are rethemeing an area, it would be the PK area. Its that dead end that makes me guess that. Much like the way Wilsons Farm was. And with not that many shops/eating places up that way......Is there land that goes that way?

The do have land that direction.   I really think the will re-theme would be the expo area and add new rides.

Branson Talk / New Ozark Mountain Christmas Lights & Village
« on: October 02, 2015, 06:07:49 PM »
New Ozark Mountain Christmas Lights & Village to debut Nov. 5.

A new drive-through Christmas light display and attraction will debut in Branson this holiday season.

In addition to a “magical mile” drive-through display, the Ozark Mountain Christmas Lights & Village will also feature rides on the North Pole Express train, selfies with Santa, laughs with the Crackling Christmas Chickens, gourmet hot chocolate, photos with the Clydesdale horses, and a life-size nativity experience.

Ozark Mountain Christmas Lights & Village — located at 555 Buena Vista Road — is open Nov. 5 through Dec. 27. The drive-through display will be open 5:30 to 11 p.m. and the Christmas Village and attractions will be open Thursday through Sunday from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

A one-night pass will cost $18 per vehicle. Season passes allowing unlimited visits cost $25 per vehicle.

The display is designed by North Pole Productions, the same creative minds behind the former Festival of Lights off Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, which ended a near 25-year run last season.

I didn't know if any of you had looked at the Branson Christmas Website.  http://bransonchristmas.info  I have been listening to the Ozark Mountain Christmas Radio for a week now...  I know Christmas is a ways out but I never tire of Christmas music.

We really enjoy going at least once every season.  Our family loves the way that Terry plays Ollie.   We have been there when others play the part but it is just not as good.  SOTH as a whole have been trying to add thing to draw people back to their location.  Car show, gun show and things like that.   Make sure you take your turn at the new shooting gallery.  We had a ball on that.

Branson Talk / Water Chute in Branson
« on: June 27, 2015, 06:23:13 PM »
Just an FYI.  I talked to the owner of the Water Chute today and she said after 40 years she is going to sell ( she is almost 80).  She said she would hope whoever buys it would keep it open but since this is prime real estate where it is you never know what will happen.  If you have never been on the slide or you love it from your childhood you might about going now before it's too late.  We had a blast there today.  Still only $15 for an hour of sliding.
