Branson Talk / Your Favorite Locally owned Restaurant or Eatery.
« on: June 10, 2019, 08:54:35 PM »
Lets get this started..
Simple rules... LOL
#1 Local Rest. or Eatery in or near Branson Area.
#2 NO Chain or Franchise business..

Lets start with your favorite for each meal.  Pros and cons..  I know picking one place is hard..  but lets try it and see how it goes...

Breakfast-- Billy Gail's - Hands down!!, problem is almost always a waiting line, so if we go to breakfast usually end up as a group at Grand Country Breakfast Buffet...  Good stuff, very reasonable prices.

Lunch--- Hmm..??  Cheeky Monkey-  Little bar and grill located on so 165- good food, quesadillas, nachos, pulled pork and other assortment of food, NOT your usual Bar food..  Beer is cold, people are friendly, I like the place..   Probably the only Bad thing is they are located out of city limits so smoking is allowed indoors..  doesnt bother me, but I have heard people complaining about that.  Its not bad early in the day, but later on in the evening towards night it gets real bad..

Supper --??   Getn Basted @ the old baldknobbers restaurant. Pros--  Lots of sitting room, Excellent food, big portions, Great fresh made pork rinds, ribs are unequalled, the pulled pork sanich is yummy.  Priced about what you would expect for good smoked food..

Now I have many other places I like to eat in town.. So lets hear it, tell us your favorite place..
Later I will start a thread about where NOT to eat and why...LOL.   but lets be positive first..!

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Kids get in free during May...
« on: May 02, 2019, 10:30:05 AM »
Saw this on another site.

""" A Branson theme park is offering free admission to children during the month of May.

If park goers buy one adult Silver Dollar City ticket (ages 12 & up) they will receive one free ticket for kids ages 4-11. Children under 3 years old get in for free.

The offer is good May 2-31, with the exception of May 6 and 13. This offer is not available at the front gate or by the phone, it is online only."""""

If this is accurate I surprised they didnt black out sat and sun of Memorial weekend,.

Of course If the family shows up, kids are free.. they are going to be eating and drinkng and buying stuff..  (( thats where the real money is.. LOL ))

Lots of pages,
lots of info for the year, new stuff for the different festivals,
No coupons,
Several ads for other businesses...

The thing I found odd, in all the info on passes and dual park passes, and beneifits,   All the ads at the back of flier, there is no mention or ad for The Showboat Belle... ??   odd..?

Branson Talk / 2018 Branson Attendance.
« on: March 17, 2019, 09:35:37 AM »
http://bransontrilakesnews.com/news_free/article_621346a0-4753-11e9-9b51-cb308e66c8a5.html

Saw this on another site.   Interesting numbers..

SDC is the 2 main reason for people coming to town.

Here was my response.:
Perfect example of why the Shows and Venues in town need to improve yearly, and be supported by the city government. I was surprised to see that visitors avereage 3.4 shows per visit.. Another solid number.

SDC number came in 2nd, great number for them. Probably IF they had not had the new Time Traveler their number would not have been quite as high. I find it interesting they are a strong 2nd..

I would like to know where "attractions" such as the go-carts, mine golf, shot towers and the ferris wheel came in on the poll...

Branson Talk / Classic Motor Inn - 2019 - K.D.
« on: February 07, 2019, 08:48:05 AM »
I will be staying with KD again this weekend..

I have not been able to lock down another motel yet.. The previous one I had made "arrangements" with went through 3 managers in 4 months, Now I cant get the newest one pinned down..

I am meeting with A rep from Elliot Lodging this weekend.  They are locally owned out of Springfield, and ised to own Home Stay, where we started..

KD obviously has not decided to move on yet..  I will be talking to her about that this weekend also.

The current owners have extended our discounted rate to us for 2019. So for now, since KD is still there, until I can get different arrangements made. I will be there with her.

Sorry for the delay/confusion.  But it is amazing how many motels in Branson, are NOT Local American Owned, and that is what I am trying to get us back to..

Hopefully more info next week...

But for now call KD, I am dealing only with her and I am ignoring the owners..

Branson Talk / Projects going on in Branson
« on: December 19, 2018, 07:23:56 AM »
We got sidetracked on the other thread for the RFD,
I thought I would start this one..
What building/attraction projects do you know about?
going on in Branson?
what do you think about them....?

RFD -  has been resold, and apparantly will become a Dixie stamped Pirate themed show

Wonderworks - Being built on the Old Baldknobber theatre property. ;D

Starlite Theatre - apparantly being rebuilt into a National Inquirers Museum :o

Kirby Theatre has been sold and is being renovated into a New Meeting place for the Bloom Church :)

The new city community building on Gretna is coming along niclet,  A lot of money spent there considering all the vacant building in town that could have be reused. ???

The Palace - Will be a new very large Aquarium, if they get it built. ::)

What have I missed?, lots of stuff going on in the little town the next few months..
