General Silver Dollar City Talk / Catfish ?
« on: June 05, 2010, 07:15:02 AM »
Is he still working at SDC?
Last time we saw him, he was working the front gate & entertainin' the crowd inside Aunt Mollys for breakfast. One other thing.. We were the very 1st people at the parkin' lot one time last year or 2 ago, cuz we left from KC so early, so we went ahead & walked. Well, guess who went buzzin' by us on'a lil' moped dress'd for work....?

Yip, Catfish!! It was hilarious to see. Gave us our very first smile & laugh of the day. Lil' memories like that are the best. And go along way! ;D

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Funny tables at Aunt Mollys
« on: May 29, 2010, 07:11:21 AM »
I know we all have tricked some'a our friends at these tables. It is funny to see your plate at about chest level. One of my brothers kids ask why it was so high. Our server said - "you must be full, & ya need to put ya'r elbows on the table to get it to go down, so when ya get up ya dont spill ya'r plate." It was hilarious.
Just 2 years ago, we found out they have'a turnin' one. Now that one tricked me! My plate full of watermelon ended up about 1/4 turn away from me, & the salt & pepper was headin' my way! ??? Cool stuff. They need more of these around the park!

Any stories?

Branson Talk / GO-CARTS!!
« on: May 23, 2010, 10:26:46 PM »
Now we'r talkin' my kinda deal! ;D How many of ya do carts when ya go to Branson? And which ones? We do the wooden ones & the slick track. I remember hearin' my pa laugh SO hard on them when i was'a kid.
We dont hit the strip as much as we used to, & if we do, we go alil' earlier to beat the crowd.
We are big dirt auto racin' fans, so we take our carts pretty serious. 8)

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Largest group
« on: May 19, 2010, 05:55:28 AM »
Two questions in one here kids.
1 - What is the largest group of people you have been to SDC with? 10-15 for us back in the mid-90s.
2 - Did you enjoy it, or do you enjoy a smaller group, or just you & ya'r Honey? I learned by that trip cuz someone always was hungry, or had to go to the bathroom, or cigarette, or hungry, ect.. Now we just do trips alone or with 3-4 of us. Older people!! ::) My brother is cruise'n to SDC in mid-late June with about 10+ peeps, he digs it.

Lets hear ya'r all's opinions & stories. 8)

Just curious..

If ya want a Hillbilly calender just send check or money order to..

SDC Memories/ Park History / The oldest thing you have..
« on: May 16, 2010, 07:56:04 AM »
that you personaly bought from SDC, is....

I gave my 24 yr old daughter the copper ring i had made in her name back in Sept. of 1987, when she turned 21. She still wears it as a necklace. I dont believe they make'm out'a real copper anymore, correct me if i'm wrong. I still have my metal ol'time photo from that trip too, & other regular photos with my ma & pa.
My fiance' has a cave group photo from June 21, 1976.
But the kicker is, my parents have a ol' suveigner book "thingy" from when they went to SDC for their honeymoon back in 1963 or 64. I will check with them & get back with ya all.

I'm just new to this site & am tryin' to catch up with ya all. I have read most of the old posts-topics & really enjoy reading ALL the stories & seeing all the pictures. This is my new #1 site, Thanks Everyone!! ;D
