Random Talk / WoF trip

Welp, since we didnt get to go to City, we decided to go to WoF just for a change'a pace. And to get out'a the house. We had a really good time, we wait'd till after 4p to go & when we walk'd up to get tickets, a guy walk'd up to us & gave us tickets for free!! What a nice guy. I offer'd $$$$ but he didnt take it. We went with a guy i work with, his wife, & his 3 daughters, all 12 & under. It was fun to ride with his kids & watch them freak out on the coasters. Thats what we enjoy alot now is watchin' the kids have fun.
The Prowler was crazy!! Very fast with tight - quik turns & hills. They got lights in the trees in some areas of the park, looks really cool. Just a nice relaxing evening in the open air..

After not going to this place in 5 years, we made sure we had a good time. Might have to go again before the season is over since we got in free. Took $200.00 & didnt spend a dime!!

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Pets inside SDC

We have seen afew pets in the City at times, but what does everyone think about it? Will we end up with ferrets on leashes, or a 100+ pound bullmastiff walkin' around like a human? I dig all animals, but my personal opinion is that all animals should stay away. Its sweet to see alil' doggy havin' fun with the family, but we all know what happens when other people jump on the ol' chuck wagon.... I also know some pets need more medical attention than others, & i know City wouldnt let it get out'a hand.

Thoughts?

Random Talk / Our trip cancel'd

Well, i wasnt gunna say anything about this, but....
I went to my Dr. Wednesday & found out i got afew health problems that have arose. We decided not to go cuz we need to save the $$$$ for more tests to be run on me. Plus 2 of our vehicles need to be tagged.
We're just having a heck of a time gettin' to SDC this year, we WILL make it atleast 1-2 times. Right now my health is more important than pleasure. I was looking forward to taping some stuff, getting it on YouTube & lettin' ya all check it out. But, thats the way it goes..
We are think'n about goin' when they are open later in the day, like maybe July 25th, we like to go on Sundays cuz they aint so busy. Aint never been there in the dark! When we finally do get to go, you all will be the 1st to know!! I'm takin' pen & paper so i dont forget what we did.

Branson Talk / Butterfly Palace

Anyone ever been?

We have never been to this place yet & was wondering what it may be like. We are heading to Branson ( & SDC ofcourse.. ) this weekend, & the forecast looks like it calls for a umbrella. So we're trying to find other things to check out. Any ideas?

Dont mention shows, we dont do those yet.

Anyone been to it?

We went last year & it was pretty good, lots of differant animals. Got to hear a alligator hiss & rumble, & a lion do his morning call. It shook our pants legs! FREAKY!! We could'a fed some stingrays but that still kinda eerie to us. I give it a 9 out of 10 rating.
The only thing that got to me was, some of the animals were inside a building & didnt get much sunlight. But, i guess thats the way it goes..

Ok, here we go, another 2 part'r.

1st - When ya was in the treehouse in Guyser Gulch, who did ya try to hit mostly with the water cannons? I noticed ALL the kids LOVE to hit grown-ups, i think its great!! I will admit that about some years ago, i soak'd a mother & her daughter. They didnt step back, so i just kept goin', it was all in fun.

2nd - Ever make someone mad when ya hit'm with one of the water thingys by Lost River? Like ya can really aim them things, just gotta have great timing. I heard a lady say 1 time - " i cant believe he hit me in my glasses, i just bought them.." Like i KNEW that! I had to walk away laughin', it still makes me laugh.

1 other thing - does any remember when Fire in the Hole used to pick 2 people wait'n in line outside, to have a water fight with the buckets that are out there? Back in the day i also remember when the employees would on purposely - accidently spill or hit someone with the water. It dont happen no more cuz we all got too many electronics with us, i miss those days tho'. Last year, a employee on the American Plunge did throw water on us when we was comin' back in. He said he thought our log was on fire.  It was all good, it felt great.

Ok, lets get alil' silly here.. Have ya ever been hit by a bug, piece of gum, or anything else on any of the rides? I have a time or two. But the funny thing is, everytime i am on Powderkeg behind anyone with long hair, it is hilarious to watch their hair whipping around infront of ya. I've had hair just inches from my face, it is still funny tho'. Makes ya wanna give it a light tug, they'd prob'ly never know.
I have seen MANY packs of cigarettes & sunglasses go afly'n!! Almost caught'a pack once!

Me just curious what we all do for a living on this site. We all seem to be very down to Earth with lots of emotion for our lil' park in the woods.

My girlyfriend works for a printing company, she runs alot'a cutters & a die-cutter. I work at a auto detail shop cleaning interiors, been in the business since 1990.

How about ya all?

Random Talk / Who has driven the oldest car to SDC?

Not counting when we was all kids, only as adults. I always seem to find some ol'school car in the park'n lot when i get to the park.

Just 2 years ago i drove a 86 Mazda 626 4-cyl with no overdrive in it from Kansas City to SDC. Prob'ly had 170,000 miles on it. Also drove a 70s Dodge Aspen slant 6 cyl, ( grandma green ) down there, back in the early to mid 90s. No air in any of'm either.

Anyone else?
