Random Talk / Halloween is'a loomin' !!
« on: October 27, 2010, 05:38:02 AM »
Just curious what we all on here do for Halloween.. We live out in the country in a very small community, & not many children come around. But, i do have a friend from work that has a haunted trail in his backyard. We usually go thru his trail & giggle about, its alot'a fun. He used to work at some of the haunted houses here in Kansas City.

Plus, what do you think the cut-off age limit for trick or treatin' is? My 24 year old daughter still dresses up & goes out with her friends & stuff. I think thats kinda silly cuz none of them have any children.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Indian stuff
« on: August 01, 2010, 07:34:38 AM »
My girl is french indian & we got to thinkin - how come SDC doesnt have any attractions that are themed with indians? Cuz we all know back in the 1800s they had to deal with indians alot. We have found afew gifts & stuff that are indian related, but not much else.

What ya all think? Have a ride called The Scalper! Or, have a show & call it The Teepee Smoke Signals Show!  :D I love my imagination..

Random Talk / Proud Moment
« on: July 29, 2010, 08:04:10 PM »
I had to share this with ya all.
This is a 25 year old young man that is the son of my boss. He just competed in the Special Olympics up in Nebraska & came home with some medals. This young man brings so much fun & laughter to work that words can not explain. Before i go home, i read with him, tease him alil', and give him a big hug. I am very proud of him. He walks in our shop most of the day, helps us do various things around the shop, & just brings lots of joy. I could go on & on....

He's one special dude to me.... ;D

General Silver Dollar City Talk / If you had your own choice..
« on: July 25, 2010, 07:56:55 AM »
where would you wanna work at SDC if you are not a citizen?

1  Train robber. I like being funny & dont mind making fun of myself.

2  Cave guide. Ofcourse i would have to learn lots more about all the history of everything.

3  Park custodian. This job probably has its ups & downs, but it'd be fun to interact with the park guests & help them out if they needed something.

4  Any ol'school ride or conductor for the train. Serious work, yet fun.

Anyone else?
I know work is work & fun is fun, & ya have to seperate them sometimes. Ya just have to be mature enough to know when.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Campfire stories
« on: July 25, 2010, 06:57:39 AM »
The 1 thing i believe is missing at City is campfires. I think it'd be cool if during the Moonlight Madness, they would tell stories & history of the park. And just for fun, every once in awhile ask some of the crowd what their favorite memory or things are at SDC.
This is just a thought because i know The City has alot going on, & the citizens probably work long hours during this time. My only main concern would be not letting the fire get too big, dont wanna catch anything a blaze.

What ya all think, would it be cool?

General Silver Dollar City Talk / High-skys rides
« on: July 18, 2010, 09:18:54 AM »
I used to love rides like these, whatever happened to rides like this? I kinda figure they take alot'a manteince & upkeep, plus, in windy or bad weather they would probably have to shut down. SDC sure would look cool from up above. :o

General Silver Dollar City Talk / SDC pictures
« on: July 17, 2010, 09:23:46 AM »
Ok, i hope this is ok to do. If not, delete it & i will not be offended.
I like pictures. I have a photography website that i really enjoy ( it is called pbase.com ) & i never have had any security issues with my computer. So i used the search bar & looked up pictues from SDC, this is what i came up with. Click on the pictures & search around on some of the highlighted stuff  & even more pictures will come up. 10 pages worth!

Enjoy!
