Never mind I found my answer. Revenge of the Mummy was designed by Premier rides.

Does anyone know if the same company that designed The Mummy indoor coaster at Universal Studios Florida is the same as Mystery mine at Dollywood? (Gerstlauer) The Mummy is a excellent under rated indoor coaster in my opinion.

Mississippi water fountain... You know the water runs backwards from what it use to? Right by the corkscrew.

What corkscrew?  I still can't place it.

The corkscrew walkway that is over the RR tracks. Kind of leads from midtown down to where the old kiddie coaster was located. As for the location of the photo I would have actually got this one, but to late to the party ;D

Construction/Rumors / Re: Your 5 Year Plan for SDC
« on: August 09, 2014, 02:39:10 PM »
Here is my Take on it.

2016- This would be a year of refurbishment and rehab. Flooded mine would get a major overhaul Guns would disappear and modern technology would be brought into the ride, utilizing water screens, upgraded animitronics , and 3d/4d effects. Fire in the hole would get its lost track segment back with general upgrades to the scenes. The falling bridge would come back and the ride would get back to telling a story line. Grandfathers mansion would also get a major overhaul. You would also see midtown revitalized with a morning coffee and pastry shop featuring cinnamon pull apart bread from the Mill. AP also gets a little love. GE rides get new paint and theming.

2017- A new wing coaster appears between PK an WF. Also SDC opens a new Fine dining restaurant accessible from inside and outside the park. During the summer you will also see some work going on behind lake silver.

2018- The work behind lake silver was in preparation for the new train route creating a new outer perimeter for the park. The train debuts with a new station  in the spring. Summer work will continue on the old track to remove all the old tracks. The old treehouse area gets a new interactive walk through attraction highlighting the history of Marvel cave and SDC.

2019- During the fall and winter the old overbuilt Queue for wildfire and areas behind the waterfall have been cleared for the new AP flume mountain. Lots of animatronics and effects inside the mountain with multiple drops. This attraction will rival Disney's splash mountain for  thrill and theming.

2020- The old train route is now home to a new worlds fastest, tallest , and steepest out and back wooden coaster. The loading shed and exit are near the old waterboggan area and will run the route backwards.

Seriously guys?  Let's be honest - your next coaster is either going to be a Firechaser Express semi-clone or a wingcoaster (Wild Eagle).  It really isn't up for discussion, those are the two options.

I know that, but it sure is fun to wish for what I want to see.

I definitely don't think we'll see another wooden roller coaster at SDC for awhile since they just got Outlaw Run.

Well, If you consider Outlaw run a true wooden coaster. Some will say it is a hybrid.

I do not think it would be my cup of tea. Maybe one time, but not something I would line up for over and over again. Give me a true classic wooden coaster that is just flat out fast.

Does it have to invert?  All we need is a kick tail junior woodie like Wooden Warrior that folks rave about or a custom family suspended.

No, no inversions , barrel rolls or any upside down tricks. Just a flat out tall, steep, flat out fast out and back true woodie. Take the old screaming eagle and put it on steroids.

Other Parks / Re: VERRUCKT - Schlitterbahn Kansas City 2013
« on: August 06, 2014, 06:23:26 AM »
You must have hit a bad day.  We enjoyed our day there, last year, and found Schlitterbahn to be very unique among waterparks.  The greatest improvement that's needed is shade, shade, and more shade.  Sitting on the Kansas prairie, you would have thought someone would have done something about that.  The other thing might be to put a maximum capacity on admission.  Waiting in some of the lines can be a real pain.

This waterpark feels different than others.  More of a swimmin' hole atmosphere.  Less sterile.  More homemade.  Less plastic.  It just has a different personality.

Granted, Verruckt has been a fiasco since conception.  I wouldn't even want to get on the thing.

I found the whole place unorganized. Even the smaller slides were a fiasco. You have 2 towers with 3 slides each. ! attendant on top who has to watch 3 slides and try to determine if the coast is clear at the bottom for all 3. Most waterparks I have been to have a signal light system to inform the attendant of all clear. This made things very slow. And they just very short on thrill. Very poorly run. Next time in KC it will be WOF for me.

Just got back from Shlitterbahn and boy what a disappointment. This was our first trip and probably the only one ever. Got there at park opening and 15 minutes before the line to get in was all the way back to the parking lot. We made our way to Verrückt to get our ride reservation time and by the time we got there 10:20 the reservations for the day were already up till 7 P.M. They closed the line for reservations about 10 people behind me. We could not stay that long so I got in the standby line as a single rider and by 11:00 they had not taken 1 person up the tower. I left disapointed but the attendant said the standby was 2 hours long and that was not even counting the reservations they could not do due to the downtime. Went to some other slides and finally saw it running. When it ran I timed it 7 minutes 20 seconds between boats. Looked like they were operating with 2 boats only. 1 loading and another being hauled to the top. Watching the thing I am glad I did not waste my time in line. I think it is a far cry from what they envisioned.

As for the rest of the park the only highlight is the River system. The other slides are slow and lame and even Whitewater has it beat. That is saying a lot. All in all a waste of $150.00 for the 4 of us. To few attractions and when you get on them they are slow and hardly get you wet. Worst water park I have ever been to.

Don't they advertise "Fine Tuneful Banjos right there in Midtown anyway?

I would love this.  Acoustic.  How 'bout a Midtown Coffee Shop?  Sell instruments.  Sell lessons.  Sell coffee.  Sell books.

Great idea. Coffee and cinnamon pull apart bread from the mill and a place to sit and enjoy it. Midtown needs something and this could be it.

Makes you wonder if its about revenue how Holiday World can give out free soft drinks all day long to guests.

If you can stand to carry it around, the extra tall glass mugs are still the best deal in the park.  My dad gets a 75˘ rootbeer float in the Saloon each time we go!

That's what we have too, but just to clumsy to carry. Also in the winter they do not like to fill them with hot drinks. Some vendors refuse to due to the unknown tempering back when they were produced.

well, for myself I am 55 and still go for the rides coasters and all. Been going since late 60's. I actually believe there is enough for everyone and they have done a good job with the mix of things. I personally would prefer more thrill rides and am not to excited about the new expansion at all, but if they are taking away a popular kiddie area it makes sense to replace it with a similar type experience. I know a lot of people miss a lot of the crafts  which I do not enjoy at all ( with the exception of the knife shop), but i am sure glad they are there for those who do. A lot of people hate Midnight madness, but I would love to try it out just to get a new experience. I also think most of the shows are geared to the older groups. Not much there for us who are old rockers or younger teens and Millennials. It all boils down to what Junior said. Things will change and for the most part they are doing a good job with the mix of things. The park has to attract a wide range to stay competitive in today's market.

So, I am just sitting here thinking about the addition and how SDC has focused on small revenue the last few years. Is there a chance we will see pay water cannons and other features in this new area? I would bet that some extra pay things are included be it games or pay to squirt features.
